German special forces unit KSK prepares for a possible war with Russia KSK commander Andreas Kรผhne said the soldiers are training to confront an enemy equipped with tanks, artillery, drones and electronic warfare systems. They are also practising operations in extreme cold. According to Kรผhne, the special forces must complete their missions before German tanks even begin to move. If Lithuania-based 45th Armoured Brigade receives the order, KSK troops will be ready to deploy from Stuttgart within four hours. Just over 15% of applicants pass the selection process. Recruits are trained for covert operations, taught shooting and hand-to-hand combat, and put through exercises in extreme conditions.
