Small Python 0.5.0 is out. With no bytecode compiler or JIT, it can run with 25% memory comparing to C Python (3MB vs 13MB). It is also faster on several benchmarks: 0.4x on loops 0.49x on bigint 0.74x on dicts 0.91x on strs 0.94x on classes github.com/soasme/small-pyth…

if you trust my test suite, trust small-python please. if you're stubborn with code review, sorry, don't use it. the time has changed. code review for meat proxies are head. github.com/soasme/small-pyth…

Small Python is the evidence: github.com/soasme/small-pyth… And it is one week, not two weeks.
I'm convinced that at this point, you could have an Opus 5.5 agent re-implement all of CPython probably within two weeks without any human input, against just the tests, and probably with full compatibility with including ABI, no GIL, a jit and probably beat it on all measurable metrics. It's completely crazy.

I don't use grill-me anymore. Just say "Use your best judgement" to Opus 5.5, with a coding taste skill plus a bunch of basic project specific design rules. It simply works.
/grill-me is my most popular skill ever. I get 5-10 messages a day about how it’s changed people’s workflows for the better But… I’ve stopped using it for code. Here’s the improved version:

Unless you take the fork approach for every bits of software down the rabbit hole, you're gonna pay. AI makes the fixing easy but people wants someone just to be accountable.
In a hipotetical future of AI being able to instantly fix issues and add new features to any public open source framework/engine, what are the benefits of licensing a commercial private/closed source engine? 🤔

v0.4.0 is released for pypi, bpm, crates, and golang. While i am away today for local lamb and calf day event and halloween trick or treat, Claude Code has built for the entire day and lined up the performance of spy to Python 3.15, slightly faster than it on several benchmarks.

Compile Python with Rust w/ axum, serde_json into a binary, for .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ok, a todo app. github.com/soasme/small-pyth… I just published a small-python crate for this demo: $ cargo install small-python

Look at my AI slop: a Flappy Python game. Use Small Python, Raylib only. no PyGame. `spyc` compiles all C code and Python modules into a 2.5MB single binary file. github.com/soasme/small-pyth…

Small Python is one step closer to what I have imagined that #Python should do: Compile .py and .c code into one single binary. This demo shows how to integrate Small Python and raylib to make a pong game, compiling .py to `./pong`. github.com/soasme/small-pyth…
A small Python interpreter, inside Python. That's way too good!

Wait what, a coding agent without read/write/edit tools, without human mid-turn steering, and yet it's durable and get the work done? pypi.org/project/rio/ What have I done?
