Two of the three tankers carrying Russian diesel that were heading to the US under the "diesel deal" have changed course, the Financial Times reports.
The Russian tanker Talisman, which is under US, UK, and EU sanctions, has turned away from the US Atlantic coast and entered the Mediterranean. It is now off the coast of Algeria, signalling "for orders" - indicating that it has no confirmed buyer or destination port.
The tanker Leruo, sanctioned by the UK, EU, and Canada, changed its declared destination to Brazil on Monday.
The third tanker, Agioi Fanendes, is expected to arrive in New York this weekend. However, Kpler analyst Matt Smith said that given the apparent reluctance of US buyers due to regulatory, legal, and sanctions-related concerns, it would not be surprising if this vessel also changed course.
