Beyond that, there's a legitimate chance the NCAA could rule Avila eligible but not grant SLU the roster exemption. That said Avila has already turned down more lucrative financial offers during his career to stay with Schertz and the #Billikens.
#Billikens coach Josh Schertz says Robbie Avila will not play Monday vs. Leigh. Schertz will not play him until any legal rulings assure he has enough of a runway to remain eligible. Beyond eligibility, SLU has to be granted an extra roster spot & Avila has to want to stay.
Monday is the deadline for Avila to be listed on the #Billikens roster. Once he's on it, it will be SLU or bust for playing college basketball. Schertz also pointed out there are other schools with open roster spots and more money available.

It would not be the first American football game played there and there is a MLB lockout looming. @BattlehawksUFL could at least fill a couple dates (or more) even if they would have to work around the #stlcards schedule that could go by the wayside.

They (UFL) have to understand that unless they can guarantee the City/Dome the same revenue as the NFL (they can’t), they will have to compete with conferences that will bring in more money. The Dome can’t afford to hold dates for them.
With @TheUFL reporting issues with availability at The Dome at America's Center, I could see Busch Stadium being the only venue that potentially works. I dont see @stlCITYsc allowing football to be played at Energizer during the MLS season. Add to it the likely '27 MLB lockout.
Big week of @TheUFL meetings on both the business and football operations sides as we prepare for 2027.
As promised, the UFL will be TRANSPARENT. On AND off the field!!!!
Today, our team presented stadium availability for all eight UFL teams. Seven venues offered significant flexibility. Unfortunately, St. Louis was the exception.
Based on the BattleDome dates currently available, the @BattlehawksUFL would play FOUR straight home games, followed by FIVE consecutive road games, and potentially return home for Week 10.
FOUR HOME GAMES. FIVE ROAD GAMES.
Sorry, but that just DOESN’T WORK FOR US!!!!
This isn’t your old spring football league. We’re going to do things DIFFERENTLY!!!! That means better planning, better partnerships, more marketing, more transparency, and most importantly, putting our FANS FIRST!!!!
St. Louis has one of the most passionate fan bases in football. These fans arrive early, stay late, and travel to support their team. I experienced it firsthand at the BattleDome and watching Battlehawks fans travel to Louisville.
I promised St. Louis we would do more, starting with bringing the UFL Draft to St. Louis on November 18.
But promises mean nothing without action!!!!
As a UFL owner, I have a responsibility to explore ALL options in St. Louis that might provide better dates, more flexibility, and a more collaborative partnership.
That doesn’t mean we’re leaving the BattleDome. It means we’re going to explore every opportunity to make the experience BETTER for our fans.
We need to work together with our stadium partners, and we also need to challenge ourselves as a league to do better.
Our fans deserve the best possible schedule, dates, times, and game-day experience.
BATTLEHAWKS FANS AND UFL FANS, I WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU!!!!
Any ideas or suggestions???

From @MLBNetwork: The Rays (80 scouts) and Brewers (64) have two of the largest scouting departments in baseball. The Brewers (46 employees) and Rays (39) both rank in the top 7 in MLB in largest analytics departments.
Spending to win doesn't necessarily involve top free agents.
