This for sure looks fake. This guy is 74. No indications of anywhere near this kind of money. Surprising the stock closed up so much vs more skepticism here… Guessing someone would pick TKO because there are multiple other large TKOs out there.

Preventing ICE from murdering civilians could have a chilling effect on future presidents’ ability to terrify the nation with a secret police force.

In a bit of a bind here and hoping someone can help: Overnight on Thursday, our Insta account was suspended w/o explanation (no warning, no sus content flagged prior). We requested a review and prob within 90s got a notification that we had been permabanned. Again, zero context. Instagram is a growing distribution channel for us, and a valuable way to reach new audiences for the pod, newsletter and videos. AFAIK we've never posted anything close to problematic (Commercial Real Estate intrigue is spicy, but not like that!). Would be grateful if anyone could connect us to a human at Meta so we can sort this out 🙏

AXIOS: President Trump and New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani have texted back and forth recently. The texting started soon after Trump and Mamdani exchanged numbers during their November meeting, the sources told Axios. Trump, in particular, lavished praise on Mamdani. "Wow, you are even better-looking in person than you are on TV," the president said when Mamdani entered the Oval Office, according to New York magazine. axios.com/2026/01/13/trump-c…

Let’s talk about an org called Firefighter Air Coalition (FAC) and how it reflects the contrived safety-need-to-profitable-monopoly pipeline common in fire code. That address for FAC? It’s PyroChem, a Johnson Controls subsidiary. JCI happens to make the very expensive FARS system this "nonprofit" advocates for. Their goal? To “promote new air management technologies that enhance firefighter safety and advocate for the implementation of codes requiring these innovative solutions.” Did I forget to mention this new nonprofit was created 70 days after JCI acquired the FARS technology from its original maker? Maybe they just give them free office space and access to the copier and the break room.
I’m shocked to discover an extremely expensive fire code requirement: -with no obligation to prove value, -that fails to consider negative outcomes, - and turns out to be a handout to a supplier & specialized vendors. This is true over and over in fire code above all others, but can’t believe another one slipped through.

If you know anything about the killing of Henryk Siwiak, the only NY 9/11 murder unconnected to the attacks, I am a lawyer and you can discuss your options in confidence and at no cost. It's been 24 years and his family deserves answers. DMs open.
There was one New York City homicide on 9/11/2001 unconnected to the attacks. It is unsolved. Henryk Siwiak was working to support his family in Poland. Nobody knows who killed him or why. I post his story every year on this day. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Killin…

This wonderful project has sparked excitement as an example of affordable housing in an expensive European city. However, an exploration of the project and its costs reveals that it isn't cheap. Let's take a tour.
Chicago’s newest affordable housing (L) costs $880k/unit. Paris affordable housing (R) costs €180/unit … and has a solid limestone facade. Chicago’s affordable housing system is broken because it relies on expensive, inefficient development models and building designs. At this point, the city should probably just provide subsidies to low-income tenants in market-rate buildings, which can be built more affordably.
