Hot take: I hate when authors make super long chapters and don't break them up over multiple chapters. Like, wdym this is a one shot that's 10k words? I feel like high 5k-6k and up is a little much...

I wanna elaborate a bit because LiB was originally going to be pretty dark with assault and literal murder happening, but very early on I was struggling with committing to it and overtime I became more interested in showing Ez and Kayn's friendship growing more than just jumping

think I decided against it for a few reasons. One being that Ezreal being assaulted genuinely physically makes me feel sick, so that idea very quickly got scrapped. And I felt like if I had Kayn kill the old man, that would open a complicated can of worms for Kayn's mental state

So in the end, LiB became a much more calm story about them getting closer and a lot of the darker elements were removed, although there are still some in there and the conflict with the old man is still there and has to be resolved somehow...

Funnily enough, in the original outline I had for LiB, Kayn *was* was supposed to kill the creepy old man. I decided against it as the story began to take a different vibe though.
