My investigation with @DropSiteNews which exposed that U.S. forces had bombed, kidnapped and tortured 36 fishermen was referenced in a congressional hearing by Rep. Keating while questioning U.S. Secretary of War Hegseth.
If you haven’t yet read the article, check it out below!
⚡️ New from @DropSiteNews: Rare Survivors of Pacific Boat Strikes Allege U.S. Forces Kidnapped and Tortured Them
As airstrikes and reports of torture under Ecuador’s U.S.-backed military regime continue to mount, fishermen tell Drop Site News they were blindfolded and held hostage for eight days.

UPDATE: I’m free from detention by Border Patrol at US customs. Agents had me for an hour and a half. I was informed this was a targeted measure against me.
The message they’re trying to send to me & everyone else is this:
Don’t advocate and fight for others.
I say NO WAY.

Elections were unconstitutionally rescheduled in Ecuador to take place in November, during the suspension of Noboa’s largest opposition party, under the pretext of “November weather being safer for travel than February.”
These are Ecuador’s streets 6 days away from November:

Bukele apparently wants at least some of the Salvadoran troops deploying to Haiti to be *outside* of the GSF, with their own authorization. A multilateral force, a bilateral force, and a private force ... what could go wrong ...

Chartered cargo flights from El Salvador continue to arrive in Port-au-Prince. At least one yesterday and one today.
450 Salvadoran troops have reportedly already arrived and the expectation is at least a 1,000 may ultimately deploy.
On paper, they are part of the GSF. But seems pretty clear Bukele and the GSF aren't exactly on the same page.
Haitian government still hasn't said anything.

A nuanced comment about Lula's victory from @sovietwithsazon. I agree with her. We could add a point about his stance on Nicaragua, although Brazil did at least succeed in reducing the impact of the recent OAS foreign ministers' meeting which was set to impose more sanctions.
Despite how happy I am for Brazil, the hypocrisy of the international applause is hard to ignore. The same actors cheering Lula’s 4th term called Chávez a dictator for it and vilified PSUV for “human rights abuses” while turning a blind eye to Lula’s troops committing rape and war crimes in Haiti. Lula is afforded their sympathy because he maintained neoliberal economics, played nice with Noboa and Jolani, blocked Venezuela from BRICS, and aligned with U.S. intervention abroad. This election result is, without a doubt, a victory for the sovereignty of Latin America against egregious election interference. But not all those applauding are cheering for our sovereignty. And, as yet another Latin American country joins U.S. mercenaries in Haiti, it’s pretty gross that certain ‘human rights activists’ (especially the Latin American pachamama libs) ignore the stain on humanity that was MINUSTAH simply because it was in service of the U.S. interests.

Excellent point. Amazing that Brazil has fought against a right-wing, tech-backed Bolsonarist government forming this time.
But imperialist intervention in Latin America cannot be stopped through social democracy and electoral politics alone. True liberation also cannot come at the expense of oppressing another group of people—as we saw with Brazil's actions in Haiti.
Those who applauded Lula but demonised Chávez or Maduro only did so because they view him as a tool to maintain regional stability within the Western sphere. They do not actually care about Latin American sovereignty.

Lula’s victory is an electoral defeat for the continental far right project amid Washington’s escalating imperial offensive in Latin America. The popular mobilization that made it possible deserves celebration. But defeating the far right electorally does not absolve progressive govts of their contradictions and accommodationism. Haiti cannot remain the exception to Latin American solidarity.

Dominican Republic immigration officers raided a Haitian neighborhood in the middle of the night. Haitians make up ~90% of the DR’s agricultural workforce and 30% of its construction workers, under conditions that labor and legal experts have described as “indentured servitude.”

Genocide is wrong because it is wrong, not because it is expensive for Americans. The longer we allow these disgusting talking points which center US comfort rather than the lives of those enduring atrocities, the longer we will find support for these atrocities
