Today we’re out of stealth, and we’ve raised a $40m seed round co-led by @creandum and @usv, to bring Instant Robot Learning to life.
For the past few months, we‘ve been busy building a new company.
Machenta.
This follows results from a new kind of robot foundation model we’ve built, which I’m so excited to share with you today!
Usually, it takes hours/days of data collection and training to teach a robot.
We’ve built a model that learns tasks instantly: one demonstration, no further training.
A model trained entirely in simulation, without a single pixel of real-world data.
A model where teaching robots is so quick and easy, it feels like physical vibe coding.
A model for robots that learn like humans do, from someone like you.
Welcome to the era of Instant Robot Learning.
Thank you @Kathi_Wilhelm, @rebeccakaden, @hkanji, @jonno_evans and all of our angels for your support!

Great investing = human taste + a machine that never sleeps.
We're hiring for both sides at @Creandum:
-> Technical VP, investing in the lower layers of the AI stack
-> Head of Data & Intelligence, building the infra, data layer and tooling for our day-to-day
More in the 🧵

Look if you have a large fund, a seed investment is an option bet
If you have a small fund, well then, it’s a core bet
Both are bets. Doesn’t really matter.
But … but … signaling risk still exists even in the Age of AI. If a top fund does your Seed or Pre-Seed, and doesn’t want to lead the next round, that’s still a negative
No matter what any Big Fund says
The option part per se is barely an issue. You are still a bet.
Every seed investment is an option bet.
“You have to think about the venture portfolio as a bunch of options. Each seed investment is an option bet.
You are buying an option to see if it is an outlier, and you want to have enough of those to make sure you have an outlier.
When there is true quantitative evidence that it is going to be an outlier, then you position size up.” @venkyganesan
How do seed funds play in a world where mega funds are totally price insensitive and “option bets” is the mindset for seed checks @infoarbitrage @chudson @hunterwalk @honam @dunkhippo33 @jasonlk
Amazing Black Forest Labs! @bfl_ai now the #1 model on Physics-IQ.
@robrombach @andi_blatt 💪 @creandum
Strong insight from @bfl_ai head of public policy: as models become open, safety becomes distributed across the stack. Geopolitically, open weights become a form of tech soft power because they shape what the rest of the world builds on

Loved the optimism about Europe and AI on our panel at @bitsandpretzels with Zhenya, @ZeynepYWillson and @inxoy_. 5 takeaways 🧵
1) AI diffusion is still early. The market is frothy, especially in early-stage valuations, but there's still a tremendous amount of opportunity

Today we’re announcing our $40M Series A, led by @AirStreet, with participation from @MadronaVentures and @Creandum.
Most of us leave one of the biggest decisions of our lives almost entirely to chance: how we spend our time at work. 🧵

The team at @creandum have had one of the greatest weeks in European Venture history:
> Trade Republic got valued at €12.5bn - the team backed them at Series A back in 2019
> Lovable got valued at $6.6bn - the team backed them at their pre-Series A in January 2025
> Fuse Energy got valued at $5bn - the team invested in their Series A back in 2022
3 insane companies across Germany, Sweden and the UK.
The markup their funds must have seen this week is wild.
When we look back at this period and analyse fund performance I wouldn't be at all surprised if Creandum comes out on top.
Amazing stuff from the team @specht_p, @_fredrik, @fritjofsson, @simonschmincke, @filiphmark

1. Big news from @RilletHQ !
We are excited to announce our $13.5M funding led by @firstround and @creandum , with participation from @SusaVentures , @BoxGroup , Go Global Ventures, Puzzle Ventures and an incredible group of builders, operators and angels.
2. Our investors
We raised $13.5M to build the next generation accounting platform from some of the world's best investors who backed Uber, Square, Notion, Spotify, Klarna, Robinhood, Ramp, Plaid, Palantir, SpaceX, Airbnb and more. We are lucky to have incredible supporters like @btrenchard, @specht_p , @chadbyers , @kevinhartz , @scottbelsky , @cjc , @dvlamoen , @spillda , Michael Yip, Edwine Alphonse.
3. What is Rillet
Rillet is the next-gen accounting platform purpose built to automate end-to-end accounting workflows. We pull in metadata from your CRM, billing, AP, payroll and automatically create invoices, bills, journal entries, deferred revenue schedules, prepaid schedules, billing forecasts and many more. 93% of journal entries booked in Rillet to date have been done without a human having ever been involved 🤯.
4. Our customers
We are lucky to have 70+ customers and hundreds of supporters who share our vision of revamping the ERP from the ground up. We are currently helping those in SaaS, usage and AI finance teams across multiple geographies, currencies and entities 🌍. And we are working hard to bring this magical experience to more industries and countries.
5. Who are we
We’re a team of accountants and engineers. We grew frustrated with manual data reconciliation and the arduous implementations and migrations from QBO to Sage, Netsuite and back. We are capable of building reusable rockets 🚀 to space, surely we can build a better accounting and financial system!
6. What is Rillet’s vision
We want to make zero day close a reality. In practical terms, this means continuous close, having your information from CRM, billing, AP, payroll etc all sync’d live instantaneously with your accounting system, and having your numbers, metrics, performance real-time for decision making. No more reporting 10 days after quarter end, report day ZERO.
7. We are hiring
We are in growth mode, check out rillet.com/careers/ if you share our passion for accounting. If you don’t see a role suitable to your talent and can convince me how you can help move the company forward, drop me a note.
8. Community and events
Join us at [email protected] and we look forward to seeing you at our future events.
One step closer to zero day close. Read more in comments below.

Exciting news! We’ve just closed our 7th fund, raising €500m to find and back Europe’s winners at Seed and Series A 💚
Here’s a little video we made to introduce the new fund...
Most VCs ranking their board member positions on Linkedin not chronologically but by success of company.
If you wanna know how a company is doing, you know where to look ;)
