Apparently, we're now supposed to believe riots in France in OCTOBER might be caused by high temperatures in JULY, AUGUST, and SEPTEMBER. 😂
So the French got hot in July, thought about it through August and September, and finally decided to riot in October?
That's some impressive thermal lag.
Paris's all-time September heat record? 36.2°C (97.2°F), set September 7, 1895.
That's 131 YEARS AGO, when atmospheric CO₂ was approximately 295 ppm.
Perhaps the French have been waiting since 1895 to riot over that hot afternoon.
Not every human problem is a climate problem. 🤷♂️

One of the more ignorant things I see on X all the time, including from @bradlander, is that Israel's presence in the WB is "illegal." No, it's not. Israel was attacked from Jordan in 1967. In that war, Israel captured the West Bank. It's not illegal to occupy territory captured in a war started by the other side until a peace agreement is reached. There has been no peace agreement. Things don't become illegal because you don't like them.
And given that Israel offered several times to give almost all of the WB, plus land swaps from Israel to make up for the remaining territory, the reason the territory remains under Israeli control is the Palestinian side's refusal to accept those offers.

We call on France to exercise restraint when dispersing the freedom fighters on the streets of Paris. These brave warriors for justice must receive immediate humanitarian aid, and their safety must be guaranteed in accordance with international law. Failure to comply will leave us no choice but to bring a case before the ICJ, in close cooperation with that renowned champion of human rights, Afghanistan.

She does seem upset, but that’s probably because there’s no one from Cato Institute there to remind her that rebuilding from all this will have significant economic benefits.

It turns on the guy is an awesome husband and Dad who was grieving the death of a friend that night. He had offered to take the baby but his wife wanted him to have it a little bit easier that night. After seeing the Internet tear him apart, she wrote a blog about what a great man he is. It’s good reflection for how quickly the internet casts judgement off of one clip. A Nova Scotia woman had precancerous cells on her cervix.
That was two years ago.
Pap smear. Abnormal cells. Referral to a gynecologist so they could find out if it was cancer. The referral sat for nine months.
She finally gets an appointment. She shows up on time — 10 a.m., in her calendar. The office says it was at 9. Won’t see her. Won’t reschedule. Start over. New referral.
She leaves crying. Seven more months go by. They call about an appointment she was never told about. She can’t take it.
She’s on a TV contract. Miss it and they can sue her.
Next opening: next year.
They don’t even call her back. She has to chase them.
She said the quiet part out loud: imagine dying of cervical cancer while you wait just to see a gyno.
That is Canada’s “universal healthcare.”
Not free care. A government monopoly that loses your referral, punishes you for their scheduling error, and hands a possible cancer case a calendar date in another year.
Coverage on paper. Care on a waitlist. You pay the taxes either way. The state decides when you’re allowed to find out if you have cancer.
This is the model they want to import as Medicare for All.
Don’t.

It is rather amazing how many widely accepted narratives about the Gaza war and Israel have been completely debunked in recent weeks. Especially after terror groups started announcing death notices for their commanders.
You will note that the media extensively ran with all these narratives without hesitation, despite there being clear evidence of them being unsupported by the facts even at the time.
3 key examples:
1) Israel targeted journalists:
This claim was highly reliant on the CPJ list of killed "journalists". Then the death notices exposed that many on that list were militants. CPJ started secretly removing names and has since announced a full review of their list, but a new analysis shows a majority remaining on the list had terror ties, and dozens are confirmed militants.

2) Israel intentionally starved Palestinians in Gaza as part of a war strategy.
This was always an absurd claim, given Gaza received more aid per capita than any war zone in recent history with Israel's active support.
But the recent report showing Gaza has malnutrition levels below most of the region and that the expected famine deaths never developed really killed this narrative, which highly relied on data manipulation by the UN and willing dupes in the media.

3) Israel targeted healthcare workers.
Recent death notices have clearly shown that many of the healthcare worker fatalities had dual roles as militants.

What the right-wing doesn't get about the Jason Arday is that even if he didn't accomplish anything, he was very accomplished.
What matters are his intentions: he wanted to give to charity, he wanted to run marathons, he wanted to be a sociologist. This is what made him a great philanthropist, sportsman, and scholar.
Just like you can choose your gender, minorities can now choose what professional accomplishments they have. This is why we held the vigil yesterday and treat him like a hero.
Have a wonderful day,

If JD Vance fails to become a viable presidential candidate, the responsibility rests primarily with him and with Tucker Carlson. Carlson (who birthed Vance’s presidential potential) has positioned himself as an open adversary of the current administration (that JD serves) and has declared he will not support Republicans in the midterms, a stance that is fragmenting the GOP and aiding Democratic gains. Critics pointing out this abhorrent behavior are not the problem.
