Recently attended an in-person handheld game console hackathon. I wrote a raycaster by hand. Someone wearing a βI β€οΈ slopβ tshirt saw mine and said βoh I wrote a ray caster too!β. They showed me. It was a ray *tracer* and claude did all the work. The person didnβt know basic graphics terms. They couldnβt answer basic questions about how it worked, could only talk about their prompting harness. Sad how AI is ruining the craft and community for people that actually like to program and have spent their lives getting good at it.

Working on a blog post where I'm presenting a minimalist version of my library `LiveToast` for anyone who doesn't want to use it and wants to maintain something more minimal:

ALT Text from upcoming blog post: # Presenting `mini_toast.ex` The basic idea of `mini_toast.ex` is that rather than being a library, itβs a simple file you can copy into any modern Phoenix/LiveView project, own it, add whatever styling and additional features you want, etc., and you have a pretty good starting point for your own toast implementation if youβd rather not use `LiveToast` and arenβt satisfied with any of the other options out there. > Note: The version Iβll present below utilizes colocated hooks added in LiveView 1.1, but if youβre on an earlier version you can just put the JS in your regular `app.js` file and everything else is the same. > Hereβs my minimalist starting point for you:
