I’ve listened to this episode 3 times now, wish ‘Hunt For Tom Clancy’ was on audible but will def sign up for sub-stack though, starting this today.
Key things I would recommend: run your subnet FUJI node on a separate machine as your mainnet node, download partial FUJI DB from hackathon, get staking-port http-port http-host public-ip options right, open ports to outside world cautiously & open beers responsibly near cpu.
One note, hitting a public price http api and returning a value from a stateful precompile might not work when deployed to mainnet cuz it could Introduce non-determinism but how about a go-lang Minecraft server? A 10,000 line machine learning algo? Why not?
My takeaway from the experience is our c-chain investment dApp @prosperodefi would obviously benefit from precompiles but being on our own subnet we'd be sort of isolated: we would lose access to @pangolindex which we depend on for our trades, still @avalancheavax is sooo cool😁.
My subnet gets the price of anything via coingecko using precompiles, use newStatefulPrecompileFunction() to 'doWhateverYouWantFunction()' & update config.go, 👍🏻👍🏻 @_patrickogrady everything was super simple except learning Go, key file in my forked repo:github.com/lapat/subnet-evm/…
Getting Subnet-EVM Contract-Examples -github.com/ava-labs/subnet-e… to work was pretty simple thanks to @AaronBuchwald
and @_patrickogrady👍🏻 Key for me was I had to update genesis.json in scripts/run.sh to include contractDeployerAllowListConfig and contractNativeMinterConfig.
Cool new solidity version version will help with that dreaded ‘stack too deep’ error. Really hope so.

My co-founder @stacktoodeep wrote a new Medium piece on the pricing tool he built for @prosperodefi...
...and I kinda come off as a tyrant. Oops.

Once again, our CTO @stacktoodeep ran head-first into a Solidity gauntlet and wrote a Medium piece about it, just in time for the #AvalancheSummit.
Bonus: the post links to the Github the pricing tool he built. Feel free to take 'er for a joyride!

This is cool! So precompiles can be used for heavy computation that normally would eat up gas like massive for loops. But can they also be used to hold massive storage arrays? Can they talk to the internet and get token prices so we can build price oracles with them too?

Cool, I’m assuming Enjin uses it for their own internal marketplace. I’ll check it out, thanks.

First gaming system to attract a ton of girls from what I’m seeing.

That’s cool, so instead of GSN, you’d use this concept embedded in a token contract? Btw, know any projects using 1155? Seems only makes sense if those 1155 tokens just stay in your own contracts because other projects only used to working with erc20.

Just finished reading Secret, Secret Agent Guy to my 4 year old, met you at Robert Crown, awesome ending, perfect to read in the dark with a flash light.
