Huntington’s 1996 thesis:
post-Cold War conflict is driven by cultural/civilizational fault lines (esp. West vs. Islam), not ideology or class.
Modernization ≠ Westernization.
France’s looting and near-civil-war riots show this clash playing out internally.

Where are western Feminists??
Where are Leftists protesting & looting for Hamas?
Where are all the feel-good activists??

"Just as woke-leftists display an exaggerated understanding for justifying crimes of migrants from the Arab-African sphere, woke-rightists bring this understanding to the Russian aggressor. Both couldn't care less about the victims." 🎯
Western, European Civilizationalist here ✌️

This is what Elon said in January 2025:
"Weʼre making good progress in Optimus. We expect to have thousands of of Optimus robots working in Tesla factories by the end of this year [2025], doing this more. And we expect to scale Optimus up faster than any product."
This is what Elon said yesterday:
"People don’t understand new technology that well, or volume production of complex new hardware that well, it sort of seems like, well, can’t you just make a whole bunch of these things immediately and send them out"
Amazing, that it's Elon who lectures the listeners on production while it was him ridiculously overestimating Tesla's ability to bring Optimus to production.
"I do expect these issues to be solved around the end of next year. [2027]"
Every sceptical voice is immediately shot down with "ooh, what do you know about manufacturing. Haha, smarter-than-Elon syndrome" or some other nonsense.
Meanwhile, Elon makes one awful prediction after the other. It's ridiculous.
We really do live in a Dilbert comic.

Was genau wollen sie damit kommunizieren?

If a government allows a violent mob to act with impunity and fails to protect its citizens, there will be consequences.
The vandals made that clear by overrunning the police station. When the state abandons its basic duty, it says it has given up.
Tax collections continue.

The problem with tools not arriving in Europe is that US companies (currently) create the tool, then watch a thousand smaller ideas appear that only exist because the tool is there. If we don't have these tools, we won't have the thousand smaller ideas appear in Europe.

What Poker Has Taught Me About Becoming a Better Investor
I’ve been investing for nearly two decades, and recently, since I started walking again after my injury, I’ve been playing quite a bit of poker. What’s fascinating is that the more I play, the more I realize how much poker has to teach us about investing, particularly about the relationship between making money and making intelligent decisions. You can play a hand brilliantly and lose thousands of dollars, or make an absolutely foolish decision and win an enormous pot. But what really interests me is how differently those two outcomes affect what we believe about ourselves.
There’s a concept in poker called expected value, or EV, which I think every investor should understand. It’s essentially a way of measuring whether a decision is profitable based on the probability of winning, how much you stand to gain, and how much you could lose. What’s interesting is that a decision can have positive EV even when you’re more likely to lose than win, and negative EV even when you’re overwhelmingly likely to win.
Imagine I offer you a coin flip where heads wins you $100 and tails costs you $40. If we flipped that coin 100 times, you’d expect to win roughly 50 times, collecting $5,000, and lose 50 times, costing you $2,000. Your expected profit would be $3,000, or $30 per flip, which is your EV. You might lose the first 10 flips, but that doesn’t make the game any less attractive.
Now imagine I offer you another wager where you have an 80% chance of winning $100 but a 20% chance of losing $500. You’d win most of the time, probably feel pretty intelligent, and might even convince yourself you’ve discovered an easy way to make money. Yet over 100 wagers, you’d expect to collect $8,000 and lose $10,000, leaving you $2,000 poorer. You can be right 80% of the time and still be making terrible decisions.
Think about how often this happens in investing. Someone buys a speculative stock, makes 200%, and concludes that his analysis was brilliant, while another investor buys an undervalued business, watches it decline 30%, and begins questioning everything he knows. But what if the first investor made a terrible decision and got lucky, while the second made an intelligent decision and simply experienced an unfavorable outcome? The market doesn’t issue report cards on the quality of our thinking, it simply gives us prices.
And that’s what makes learning from financial markets so incredibly difficult. In most areas of life, good decisions tend to produce good results, and bad decisions eventually teach us painful lessons. But in investing, the feedback can be completely backwards, sometimes for years. You can become extraordinarily wealthy while developing increasingly terrible habits, or become a much better investor during a period when your portfolio is performing poorly.
Perhaps the most dangerous thing about making money is that it can convince you that you understand something you don’t. There’s another lesson here that I find even more interesting, and it has to do with how we think about the future. Most investors spend enormous amounts of time asking whether a company will succeed, but that’s only half the question. The other half, which is arguably more important, is what you’re paying for that possibility. A wonderful business can be a terrible investment, while a business with an uncertain future can offer extraordinary returns if the price is sufficiently attractive.
