There are a lot of people who get a very good service from the NHS, but they have no conception that there are others who don't.

I developed AF after decades of following NHS advice to ignore my symptoms and get more exercise. This is what happened after I was diagnosed:

He's a cooper crafting a wood barrel often used for wine (usually oak for wine) and similar products meant to be stored for a bit! Finding something like that today isn't an easy thing to do either.

If manufacturers really want to impress me with smart home appliances, give me a documented local API. I don't need another mobile app, another cloud account, or another subscription just to control something sitting three metres away ffs

The phone company would send this GIANT book to your house (I’m talking like 8 inches thick on super thin paper) and it doxxed everyone in your town. Their address, their phone number, etc.. And they sent it to everyone in town. For free. Just because. Wild.
Millennials, what was considered completely NORMAL in 2005 that would be absolutely unhinged today?

“Russia is starting to attack Britain” what do you mean STARTING? Brexit was Russia. The rise of Reform is Russia. Widespread far right bot activity is Russia. Male street violence is Russia. European election interference is Russia. Widespread division and chaos is Russia.

You’ve got to laugh. Here we are, supposedly the planet’s most intelligent species by a country mile & we’re destroying our only home by burning fossil fuels for profit. It beggars belief, our leaders truly are turds of epic proportions!

This is why we can’t trust the Trusts . ‘ no evidence of harm ‘ by X, Y and Z group of staff , just means that the harm has been covered up.

A woman was convinced her husband was having an affair with the maid, so she decided to set a trap. One evening, she suddenly sent the maid home for the weekend without telling her husband. That night, after they went to bed, her husband gave his usual excuse. “Excuse me, dear. My stomach is bothering me,” he said before heading to the bathroom. The wife immediately got out of bed and slipped into the maid’s bed. She turned off the lights and waited. When her husband returned, he quietly climbed into bed and wasted no time. He had his way with her without saying a word. When he finished and was still catching his breath, the wife said, “You didn’t expect to find me in this bed, did you?” She then switched on the light. “No, ma’am,” replied the gardener.

Look at this bomber. Oil men spotted it in the middle of the Sahara in 1958. When a team finally reached it, its machine guns still fired. Its radio still worked. There were no bodies inside. No parachutes either. It had vanished on its very first mission in 1943. So where did the nine men go? This is the story of the Lady Be Good..🧵1/5

Without the diode, the NP base-emitter junction of the transistor conducts in one direction only, and the 0.22uF AC-coupling capacitor charges until no signal goes through. The diode provides a path for the current going in the opposite direction.

I viewed your latest published cases and most of them said 'closed after initial inquiries'. What percentage did you actually uphold @PublicServOmb

Please don't plant these around Data Centers 😆
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Planting Japanese knotweed or running bamboo near data centres can also harm local ecosystems. Both can spread and displace native plants. agriculture.vic.gov.au/biosecurity/we… weeds.dpi.nsw.gov.au/Weed?id=114

I see it every day in my practice: 7 steps that turn normal people into lifelong psychiatric patients. 1. You see your doctor for a real reason. A breakup. A job you can't stand. Drinking too much. Feeling isolated. Instead of exploring your life, the doctor hands you a prescription. It helps you sleep or numbs the pain, so it seems like a good idea. 2. Nobody talks about getting off. Check-ins are about side effects and dose. Not your life. Since they keep prescribing it, you assume it's safe. 3. You decide to stop. Maybe the problem resolved. Maybe the drug quietly stopped working. You get a quick taper over a few months. Then withdrawal hits like a freight train, and you're told it's your illness coming back. 4. You're convinced you have a chronic mental illness. You go back on the drug, it works, and everyone is relieved. Nobody calls it withdrawal. Now you believe you have a chemical imbalance, like a diabetic who needs insulin. 5. The doses climb. You build tolerance, you max out, and more meds get added. You're told some illnesses just get worse. 6. The meds start to harm you. After years on antidepressants: low energy, poor motivation, emotional numbness, anxiety for no reason. On benzos: memory problems, more anxiety, wanting to stay home. Your doctor doesn't see it because they were never trained to. 7. You're labeled "treatment resistant." Antipsychotics, mood stabilizers, ketamine, ECT or TMS. Some help briefly, then wear off. Eventually nobody remembers how it all started. Getting out is hard. It means realizing you misplaced your trust, often with family telling you to "trust the experts" who got you here. It can take years to untangle the medications and let your brain heal. But it can be done. Don't stop suddenly. Come off slowly, with a prescriber who'll go at your pace. Comment TAPER and I'll send you my free safe tapering guide.

UK “dangerously” reliant on China for raw materials needed for defence, energy infrastructure and AI. Govts promote finance industry, neglect manufacturing which has multiplier effect of more than 1.8. 1970: Manufacturing was 30% of GDP, now 8%-9%. theguardian.com/world/2026/n…
