Important, heartfelt and magisterial as ever from JKR. In particular, her class analysis of gender ideology is of characteristic unerring accuracy.
I wrote a new piece about women’s rights and whether or not I want trans people dead. (Spoiler: I don’t)👇

*air-punching in the production office*
GBBO producer 2: "Oh my god! Perfect! How many boxes does that tick?"
GBBOP1: "Oh loads - it's a GAY throuple!!"
*finger-snaps/craft beer opening*
GBBOP3: "But how can we drag a mention of the throuple into the show, though, in a way that's not contrived? Hmm..."
*much head-scratching/staring into space*
GBBOP4: "I know! Let's have a task where contestants have to bake something with a member of their family! Then we can get him to bring in one of the partners! And any talk about the throuple can seem unforced!"
*finger-snaps/twerking on tables/gluten-free pizzas ordered*
GBBOP5: "This is going to be the best Bake Off ever! By the way - can this throuple guy bake?"
GBBOP1: "Oh, pffft, who cares? None of 'em can! But nobody wants to watch old Karens baking cakes."
*nodding/vaping/Blåhag stroking*
GBBOP2: "Well, here's hoping that Paul and Nigella won't absolutely hate each other's guts in a way that's obvious to viewers. Anyway, let's get back to it. Tomorrow, we march!"

It has emerged that Zack Polanski (who changed his name from David Paulden) claimed his ancestors fled the Nazis even though all of his grandparents were born in Britain long before the war.
All of this is to give him a strategic angle to tear into Israel.
He is a fraud.

Wildlife cameraman Gordon Buchanan had himself shut inside a clear box beside a seal's breathing hole in Svalbard so he could film a polar bear hunt from ice level.
She walked right past the hole and spent about 40 minutes treating him like the seal.
Somewhere in there he stops being the guy filming the hunt and turns into the problem she's trying to solve.

Very good piece by Victoria Smith. This paragraph is absolutely bang on. 'How Do They Expect The Gender Wars To End?'
(A question I think about a lot, given the constant opposition to doing the very obvious things that will help do that!)

What Ed should have said:
“I hope you’re all enjoying the show tonight. I thought about addressing the elephant in the room, but I’m not going to.
“I’m not going to because we’re here to celebrate music and have a good time, not to talk about politics. And I’m not a politician. My craft is songwriting, not geopolitics.
“There are some people who seem to think they’re experts in history and politics when they’re not. It’s okay to have opinions, or course it is, but these people think they are entitled to decide what the truth is, what everyone should think, and those who don’t fall into line are targeted with organised campaigns that are spiteful, counterproductive and just mean.
“When I picked up a guitar, I wanted to bring happiness to others, not wield it like a weapon. But it’s clear there are people who think no form of creative art or entertainment should be free of political messaging - and specifically political messaging they’ve approved of.
“I don’t want that to happen. I’m not going to let it happen. And now and in the future, when I’m performing, it won’t happen.
“So enjoy the music, have a great evening, and thanks for coming.”

A landmark Finnish study has found a sharp rise in psychiatric illness among adolescents following sex-alteration procedures.
The peer-reviewed study, published in Acta Paediatrica, tracked every young person under 23 who contacted Finland's gender clinics between 1996 and 2019.
A total 2,083 individuals were studied, with 16,643 matched controls. They were followed for up to 25 years.
Finland's health registers are mandatory, which means no one opts out — this is the complete national picture.
The numbers: psychiatric morbidity rose from 9.8% to 60.7% in adolescents who underwent feminising reassignment, and from 21.6% to 54.5% in masculinising reassignment.
Even after adjusting for prior psychiatric history, gender-referred adolescents faced five times the risk of male population controls, and three times the risk of female controls.
"Psychiatric needs do not subside after medical gender reassignment," the authors concluded.
Referrals after 2010 arrived sicker. 47.9% had already needed psychiatric treatment before their first clinic visit, against 15.3% among controls.
The authors' read: for some adolescents, gender distress may be secondary to other mental health challenges.
The evidence keeps mounting. The silencing continues anyway.
How many more adolescents will be told this is "care"?
