I can't believe it's been a year since the @_BTO Young Leaders course.
Quality birding with quality people at a quality location, gutted to not be at Spurn again this year.
Hopefully this enjoyable & useful opportunity for young people will go ahead next year 🤞🏼

I have been meaning to start moth trapping so took the opportunity to start recently. Here is a quick photo I took this morning. I think this is a marbled brown but if it’s not please let me know.
Decided to set out a @Bushnell camera trap last night in my garden. Amongst many photos of my neighbours cat I found this one of a badger, I had no idea it was there before.
It’s great to see that there a so many online resources available to us at this time. Really interesting Q and A session by @SteveBackshall yesterday on instagram!
Thank you so much to the @cameron_b_trust for this amazing opportunity. I am thrilled to be the recipient of this scholarship and can not wait for the event to take place!

The World's Fattest Parrot is Back from the Brink:
Kākāpōs are not just rare, they're deeply weird: flightless, nocturnal, w/ fragrant feathers & a comical waddling run. Males “boom” to attract females & they only breed when the native rimu trees “mast”.
