Time to go deep on the principles at play in the Alberta referendum to remain or begin leaving Canada.

Mysle ze premier Słowenii wyraża tu opinię większości. Coraz większej większości..
Ko smo se odločali za vstop v EU, si ni nihče predstavljal, da bo v kaki njeni članici in uniji nasploh mogoče brez posledic:
1. Razveljaviti predsedniške volitve (Romunija);
2. Ukiniti informativni program na nacionalni RTV (Madžarska);
3. Poslati policijo na Ustavno sodišče (Poljska);
4. Tri tedne pred volitvami poslati v zapor predsednika stranke, ki vodi v anketah (Slovenija);
5. Zasesti nacionalno RTV s policijo in zamenjati vodstvo (Poljska);
6. Prekiniti mandate vodstvu nacionalne RTV in izvesti čistko zaposlenih (Slovenija);
7. Poslati v zapor člane prejšnje vlade brez možnosti obrambe (Madžarska);
8. Podeliti skoraj milijon državljanstev ilegalnim migrantom po hitrem postopku (Španija);
9. Zapreti novo Nuklearno elektrarno in zgraditi plinovod do Rusije (Nemčija);

🇵🇱🇪🇺 So today's attempted coup in Poland by Donald Tusk was to prevent the country from leaving the EU. Joining the EU is meant to be a one-way-process, no matter how miserable and impoverished it makes the nation.
🇨🇦 Canadians, are you paying attention?

Umm... yeah. Let's not become more European.
"Tusk thinks all Polish law should be subordinate to EU law."
What’s happening in Poland?
In a nutshell there are two political blocks: Law and Justice (PiS), led by Jarosław Kaczyński (nationalist, socially conservative, and skeptical of certain EU policies) who were in power from 2015 to 2023, and Donald Tusk’s Civic Coalition (and its partners), pro-Eu and have been in government since late 2023.
PiS reformed the Constitutional Tribunal (court) which argues Polish law has precedence over some EU law.
Tusk thinks all Polish law should be subordinate to EU law.
Despite the Polish Constitution stating the Tribunal’s position is final, Tusk has been ignoring it.
A Tusk appointed Judge on the Tribunal has - seemingly with Tusk’s support - suspended the President of the Tribunal and another PiS appointed judge, causing the present crisis.
What is in fact behind this is that Donald Tusk is trying to make the upcoming 2027 elections all about the EU.
He is ideologically committed to ensuring the EU dominates Poland while the PiS does not want to leave the EU, but want to retain some Polish autonomy. Tusk is trying to create a minor crisis and present it as the right’s fault and position himself as the guardian of Polish membership of the EU.
It’s up to the Poles, but should they really trust a man who creates a crisis to help him make sure Poland becomes fully submissive to Brussels? I think not.

If it were not for X we would know nothing about the failed Tusk/EU coup in Poland. Nothing on the BBC, CBC, Guardian (though I swear the Guardian had a story up last night), Daily Mail, National Post. It's more than a little strange.
Nice try, technocrats. May these losers be prosecuted to the full extent of Polish law.

Who else is sick of our governments piling crippling levels of debt on us and crowding out private capital so they can subsidize a handful of big corporations that never actually keep or create new jobs?
Let the uncompetitive companies die. Cut taxes and red tape instead.
I don’t get why anyone wouldn’t support the government of Canada investing in @cohere
They religiously give billions, with no equity in exchange, to companies like Honda, VW, Stellantis, Umicore, and BHP.
The government didn’t lead the round, they participated, and I hope to see billions more invested this way every year.
Beats using our $ for grants, tax credits, and loans with favorable terms to large and foreign owned corporations.

Carney is making a deal with the devil at the same time the globalists are trying to take over Poland. If you can't see who he really is at this point I can't help you.

Indeed. In any kind of democracy.

Indeed.
One of the greatest ironies of the COVID era, for me, was watching people whose self-concept revolved around championing multiculturalism, Indigenous wisdom, and respect for non-Western traditions suddenly demand absolute conformity to a single Western biomedical approach to health.
Traditional Chinese medicine, Ayurveda, and countless Indigenous healing traditions around the world emphasize the health of the whole organism, its environment, and the cultivation of balance and resilience over fighting a particular pathogen.
Yet during COVID, discussions of these perspectives—overall health, fitness, mental health, nutrition, and internal balance—were met with ridicule and even censorship, while people who refused the novel allopathic pharmaceutical intervention were excluded from most aspects of society.
It was so dark that it was hard to appreciate the parody. People whose entire cultural narrative revolved around multiculturalism were insisting that everyone conform to the dominant Western biomedical establishment—a system consolidated through Rockefeller-era reforms, backed by oil wealth, that marginalized traditional approaches to medicine.
Anyone who refused to conform to the system during the Covid era was treated as an ignorant savage, too stupid or dangerous to participate in society.
And anyone who practiced holistic medicine and rejected the novel allopathic intervention was labeled "hesitant"—someone who needed to be "educated." The colonial irony was breathtaking. Here were the self-appointed champions of Indigenous wisdom, assuming the familiar role of the enlightened colonizer, arriving to educate the ignorant savages out of their supposedly primitive beliefs.
The acceptable public narrative was framed as a war against a pathogen, with almost no tolerance for even discussing the holistic conditions of health.
My point isn't about a warlike binary of germ versus terrain theory, or a belief that traditional medicine should replace modern allopathy.
I'm pointing out the extraordinary irony of people who celebrated cultural diversity becoming completely intolerant of medical pluralism.
For me, that contradiction was a profound wake-up call about a culture I'd lived in for decades without ever seriously questioning.
Apparently, when diversity goes deeper than the appearance of a Benetton ad, tolerance for differences can go right out the window.
