Devastating rout for the GOP. Aside from Texas, biggest swings against the GOP have been in states distant from the big social issues controversies around migration, gender, etc.
In places where people live in towns and fairly small cities, i.e. Nebraska, South Carolina, Kansas, etc. the Republicans have been about as heavily defeated as they ever have since the New Deal.
In other wars, voters not in culture war war zones voted on material, economic issues and found the current administration a level of failure comparable to mid-term Jimmy Carter or Herbert Hoover.
Aside from in Texas, the Republicans were able to eke out wins in either very rural areas or places devastated by the culture war.

This is beyond embarrassing. The @TownofGibsons, British Columbia, apologizes for a Harry Potter display, presumably on account of complaints from a few rabid trans activists who have learned, precisely on account of this kind of response, that they have the power to force anyone to grovel at their feet on demand.
Putting aside the fact that @jk_rowling should be celebrated, not just as an author, but as one of the few famous women to be bold enough to stand up for women and women's rights, why do adults not realize that catering to bullies only emboldens the bullies. They will never leave you alone once they learn they own you.

Sincere congrats to Premier-elect Lorne Doerkson. I got to know Lorne through the emergencies file. We spent many hours in debate while I was heavily pregnant; I joked Azalea would be born recognizing his voice! He's a decent man and I know he'll do his best to serve BC well.

Just a reminder that the Alberta NDP wants ridings drawn based on raw population without consideration for whether the people who live in an area are all citizens or not.
It's just a fact that more urban areas will have more temporary residents and permanent residents who cannot vote.
Demanding rural areas be disenfranchised because Calgary and Edmonton have more people, whether they can vote or not, is foolish and anti-democratic in the extreme.
The NDP will scream "geography doesn't vote" because sometimes rural ridings have fewer people than the average Alberta provincial riding.
Guess what, non-citizens also DO NOT VOTE.
Who could guess why the Alberta NDP loves unchecked immigration and oppose the UCP government wanting to limit future immigration numbers???

The man behind it is @JarrydJaeger. And he couldn’t be doing more to try to ensure there’s no editorial bias. He drops full clips from press conferences, asks great questions and brings in voices from across the spectrum.
In a time where almost all news is subdivided slop, Jarryds name is the brand. The owner could be the most capitalistic right winger or the most communist left leaner, but the man carrying the work on his back has shown integrity since before Sitka started.
