I am trying to reclaim my handwriting. But I am lazy and indisciplined about practice and need to be tricked into it. So, I have a proposal.

Sabir Bhatia was once known to the world as the founder of Hotmail, the man who brought free email to millions.
Now, he will be remembered as the documentary filmmaker who ripped the Modi-Adani nexus wide open, tore apart their carefully constructed façade, and exposed both of them to the world in all their naked hypocrisy.

If this was a Kashmiri Muslim activist, by now it would have over one lakh retweets, and the Print would have activated a thousand anonymous Ibn-s to theorize what's wrong-with-Islam, and the Print would have a 50-word vomit-edit out first thing in the morning!

“I had brought 3 books with me, but I am not even being allowed to read them," Dr Randall Sequeira told @karmrath after he was arrested
“I was picked up from my home without being shown any papers or identification. I asked them whether I was being detained or arrested, but they did not give me any answer. I was taken from one place to another for nearly four hours. I was then kept under arrest for approximately 16 hours and produced before the court after around 18 hours.”
He said they made him sleep on the bare floor that first night.
He was not allowed a pen or paper

The most enduring image of Randall Sequeira among tribal communities in the bauxite-rich hills of southwestern Odisha is that of a bearded, bespectacled, lanky doctor on a Royal Enfield Himalayan motorcycle travelling between far-flung villages to treat the sick, @Ayaskant_Das writes about him

Amazing. So if you do dishes once at home or give medicines to a sick family member once, you can be considered as employed?
Why even collect data at that point? Just make up numbers. Save some taxpayer money that way for foreign trips
The Indian government is proposing changes to how the unemployment data will be calculated. Including questions about unpaid household work. Already unpaid farm work is considered "employment"

"Why were we deleted?"
Ramesh, a long-time #Delhi voter, said “13 or 14 members” of his family were deleted. He didn’t receive any notice. He found out 3 days ago through volunteer groups helping deleted voters in the national capital

why don’t you also mention that the attackers were from Bajrang Dal which is part of your Sangh Parivar? Why don’t you mention that they chanted “Jai Shree Ram” while attacking? This is the hate manufactured & weaponised by the state (read: you) in Assam.
The news of an attack on a Bihu troupe in Sribhumi is deeply disturbing and unfortunate.
Bihu is the soul of Assam, our pride and our identity. We will never tolerate any insult to our culture and heritage.
I have directed the @DGPAssamPolice to ensure immediate action against those responsible.

I'm in my 40s. I'm a lawyer. My wife is a lawyer. We both work full time.
We cannot afford the house my parents purchased on a single electrician's income in their 30s.
We cannot afford the house my immigrant grandparents purchased on a single MTA bus driver's salary in their 30s. They had SIX CHILDREN.
For 30 years, politicians in Washington & their oligarch allies convinced regular people that this was just about avocado toast and fancy coffee.
In reality, this is end-stage capitalism. Everyone is stuck in place. It's impossible to buy a home. It's too costly to move. We work too much to have passion projects. We don't have enough savings to start our own businesses. We can't afford to go without healthcare to do it.
Thanks for writing this article @troy_closson. Would be very happy to discuss further.

Heartiest congratulations to my dear friend, President Lula, on his remarkable re-election victory.
I look forward to working closely with him to further deepen and expand the multifaceted India-Brazil Strategic Partnership.
Together, we will continue to strengthen our cooperation across diverse sectors, advance the shared priorities of the Global South and work towards a more inclusive, equitable and sustainable world.

Oh yes. People should definitely stay loyal to one company for years in the hopes that when they eventually get laid off someday, it acts as a saviour. As compared to progressively increasing their income over the years.
Microsoft's voluntary exit package is a masterclass in why job hopping is not always the smartest career move.
The package offered for Indian employees : 3 months base pay plus 1 month for every year of service.
Do the math.
Someone who joined Microsoft 8 years ago is walking out with 11 months of salary in hand. That is nearly a full year of runway. Enough time to find the right next role without desperation. Enough capital to start something of your own. Enough breathing room to actually think.
Someone who switched every 2 years chasing a 30% salary hike is walking out with 5 months. Maybe less.
Yes the job hopper probably earned more along the way. But they also gave up something the market rarely values until a moment like this arrives. Tenure. Loyalty. The compound interest of staying.
The Indian tech industry spent a decade glorifying switching. Every LinkedIn post was about how someone left Company A for a 40% hike at Company B. Nobody talked about what they left behind.
Severance packages, vesting schedules, pension benefits, long service awards. These are not relics of a boring corporate life. They are the financial reward for the people who stayed when everyone else was leaving.
The next time someone tells you that you are leaving money on the table by not switching, show them this Microsoft math.
Stability has a price. It also has a payout.

As a U.S. immigration attorney, I occasionally get (and have to refer out) outbound immigration requests from U.S. citizens. The amount of shocked faces I get when I explain “Yeah, so every country has their own immigration laws,” is honestly so funny, lol

Many bangers in the @ajaishukla piece about the Hindutva-isation of the military brass but this one: For no apparent reason, the IAF appears to be more Sanskrit-ised than the other two services. One wag at a recent seminar commented, “it might be because they serve closer to God”
