#WATCH |PM @narendramodi spoke with Captain Smit Machchhar over a video call, praising his courage, presence of mind and composure during the difficult situation. PM Modi said the entire country was praying for Smit and praised his spirit of putting others’ safety before his own.
An emotional Smit told the Prime Minister that he is his biggest idol and said receiving the call was a deeply special and proud moment for him, one he had never imagined.
PM Modi also spoke about Smit’s mother, Geeta Ben, saying she had raised him with the values and teachings of the Bhagavad Gita. Smit shared that he recites the Hanuman Chalisa whenever he faces difficulties and was doing so during the challenging moment as well.
PM Modi said India can proudly say that Indians are not those who take lives, but those willing to risk their own lives to save others.

My salute to the Indian pilot Captain Smit Machchhar for his extraordinary bravery.
Despite being stabbed and seriously injured, he fought back, resisted, opened the cockpit door, and enabled passengers and crew to overpower the attacker — preventing a catastrophic mid-air disaster.
He saved the lives of 174 people, including Israeli citizens and other nationals.
I wish Captain Machchhar a speedy and full recovery.

After years of promises, announcements & assurances, citizens are still asking for basic infrastructure on the ground.
❓ Where is the Development Plan for Undri & Pisoli?
❓ Where is reliable PMC drinking water?
❓ Where are proper roads, footpaths, drainage & streetlights?
❓ Where is the action against encroachments?
❓ Where are the promised green/open spaces for citizens?
Our 9-point demand is simple:
1️⃣ Development Plan for Undri & Pisoli — pending since 2017.
2️⃣ Expand Clover Mall–Palace Orchard–Kad Nagar–Mohammadwadi–Undri Chowk road, reduce dangerous slopes and remove encroachments.
3️⃣ Footpaths + streetlights + proper dividers + scientifically planned U-turns.
4️⃣ 100% removal of encroachments in Prabhag 41 — consistent enforcement, without exceptions.
5️⃣ PMC water pipeline network for Undri, Pisoli, Handewadi & Wadachiwadi — reduce dependence on tankers through functioning distribution infrastructure. Water supply projects have been promised for years, and recent reporting shows parts of Mohammadwadi/Undri/NIBM have only recently begun receiving or moving toward civic supply.
6️⃣ Property tax must translate into visible civic infrastructure — roads, water, drainage, footpaths and streetlights.
7️⃣ Amenity spaces must remain public assets — transparent decisions, public accountability and no opaque commercialisation.
8️⃣ Develop amenity spaces as gardens, green spaces & children's play areas.
9️⃣ Kad Nagar–Dhruv School Bridge — complete urgently. Repeated temporary road repairs are not a permanent solution for Undri Marg as thats the only road to travel for 4000+ residents.
📢 The question to the Triple Engine Government is simple:
Promises were made. Announcements were made. Budgets were announced.
👉 When will citizens see DELIVERY on the ground?
Citizens don't need another meeting, inspection or assurance.
We need a TIME-BOUND ACTION PLAN — with deadlines, budgets, responsible officers and measurable outcomes.
