Snoop Caught Lying on Pac Again: The Night 2Pac and Nas Ended Their Feud at Bryant Park on September 4, 1996.
Pac and Nas’ brother Jungle already had a confrontation backstage at the MTV Video Music Awards where Jungle threatened to take 2Pac’s Death Row chain.
After the ‘96 VMAs however, in the middle of the hottest East Coast–West Coast tension, Nas stepped to 2Pac in Bryant Park. Both sides were deep and ready. They cleared the air face-to-face. Pac told him straight up:
“Me and you are brothers. We were never supposed to go at it. Things got misconstrued.”
Nas explained the “Message” bars weren’t about him. They shook hands, called off their people, and planned to finish the conversation in Las Vegas and end the rivalry for good.
Two hip hop legends choosing dialogue over destruction when it mattered most. The world never got to see that Vegas meeting.
2Pac was shot three days later and passed away on September 13th. Nine days after ending his feud with Nas in New York.
But the record is clear: both men wanted peace and were actively working toward it.
Snoop has spent years telling a different story that Pac “punked” Nas and that Nas had the numbers and gave them a pass.
That story has been debunked by the people who were actually there. Nas said Snoop had it wrong.
Outlaw members Napoleon and the late Young Noble both called Snoop’s account the wildest and most inaccurate retelling as they were right there with Pac and confirmed Nas walked up, they spoke man-to-man, and it ended in mutual respect with plans to politic in Vegas.
Fatal Hussein’s own goons Moddy Bang and Gotti, who were on the front line that night with Pac also broke it down and exposed the embellishments.
Two legends chose to squash the beef like grown men, and one passed away nine days later in Vegas.
“If you believe in God, believe in Death Row East.” - 2Pac
