I used to have a jiu jitsu coach that I trained with for years. Black belt, huge personality, badass guy. I respected him a ton
One day he casually mentioned he was 5'7
I was dumbstruck. I'd never once "thought" about his height because why would I care, but I somehow couldn't believe he was only 5'7
Because he was LARGER THAN LIFE and I respected him
Even after that he legitimately seemed taller than most other guys in my eyes. He'd be standing next to bigger guys and my eyes and brain would play tricks on me and make him seem taller
