ALT Benny Blinders, so named because he once stole the saddlebags off a horse by dressing up as a black piece of cardboard. Benny is a master of disguise - give him a mop head and an old scrap of blanket, and his own mother wouldn't recognize him*. He is persona au gratin** with the local Thieves' Guild. (How does he make his living? Very carefully.) You see, he once met a gentleman outside of what he now knows is the High Energy Magic building of the Unseen University and asked him politely to raise his hands. When he asked again, less politely, the gentleman dropped the arcane whatsit he was holding and vanished (very messily). Now, at the edges of his imagination, Benny sometimes thinks he hears a voice pushing him to investigate strange magic and to perform experiments he doesn't understand. *Not that she would anyway, but it's the principle of the thing. **Which is to say, if they catch him stealing, they'll go after him with a cheese grater.
