August is almost here and back to school time brings extra anxiety, especially for families with children who have special needs.
School can feel overwhelming and the right tools make all the difference in helping these kids and families feel safe and supported.
Our local school district contracts out for play therapy, which has been an amazing tool for my son but he’s had three different play therapists and while every one of them has been wonderful, that lack of consistency weighs on him.
That’s why I’ve put together an Amazon wishlist with sensory toys, coping activities, and communication games.
These would stay in the play therapy room for every child who needs them, no matter which therapist walks through the door.
Please consider taking a look as even one item from the list could bring real comfort to these kids. I’m also going to be pulling from the local resources I have to see what I can come up with!
