Page 4 of the S-1 is not dissimilar from Jesus in Matthew 11: "The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them." A must read @HenryChandonnet businessinsider.com/anthropi…

Wildfires are a known threat in the West. But after a fire scars the earth, there's another risk. Severe burns can strip away plants and leave soils that don’t easily absorb water, increasing the potential for catastrophic floods. Towns are often caught unprepared. THREAD ⬇️

This is such a great and important point. As we know, climate journalists love climate change, crime reporters love crime, war correspondents love war, etc. Thank you Theo
Yes? Why would you be a tech journalist if you hate technology?

the stuff here about what kind of streams billboard is tabulating is important. i'm less sold on the investment argument — or it's at least more complicated than as outlined here — but there's a musical component (not about quality) that is also crucial & worth discussing (below)
There are primarily 2 reasons hip-hop is no longer a mainstay on the Hot 100. 1. Investment decrease 2. Measurement changes I’ll explain…

🚨SCOOP🚨: I talked the guy who wrote the oddly horny song about for the viral toy pumpkin. He would like you to know that it is NOT AI, first of all. "Can I deny that I understood the double entendre when I wrote it? The answer is no, I can't." businessinsider.com/jabberin…

Oreogate is a hugely viral series of videos on Instagram of (allegedly) a mom group chat bickering over Oreos in lunches. But it’s really an ad for Suno, the generative AI music app. (Suno confirmed to me that this is a paid partnership - Oreo denied involvement). Where it gets more confusing is: did this even happen at all, or is it totally fiction? The creator initially responded to my request to talk about it, but didn’t want to get “into the specifics of the people/messages behind Oreogate”. But wouldn’t anger if it was real or fake, and then stopped responding. The account only started posting 3 weeks ago, and only posts videos tagged #sunopartner. No personal photos or any other content. Seems like it’s part of a new trend of fake “storytime” videos meant to be relatably enraging but are secretly ads. Kate Lindsay wrote about this for @milkkarten’s great newsletter recently. Here’s my story on it: businessinsider.com/oreogate…

Good luck to Meta on its new journey with the new settlement/time limits for teens. When Australia banned all social media for kids under 16, it was effective for like... 3 weeks (and then kids immediately got around it). My story: businessinsider.com/australi…
