Starting to pick up now. Pretty good volumes yesterday overall @ganeshsonawane

Wrong/Ragebait-ish of a diagnosis by @ashleevance
I’ve been a former VC across 3 different funds over the course of last few years, noting my observations:
1. A developing economy ‘earns’ its risk appetite. Capital follows exits, and India’s first real tech IPOs wave only came post 2020s. Most folks need some early validation before chasing the outlier feats like building rockets. Early venture ecosystem needs proof of outcomes for taking bolder bets and as been on the inside- i can vouch the fervour was never higher for deeptech.
2. But again, India doesn’t have to climb one rung at a time. China also built payments and consumers first, before unlocking deeptech innovations. About 10 years ago it was a 11T economy at 8k dollars per person. Today it’s 19.5T and rules in EVs, manufacturing, and even draws levels with the US frontier AI. India’s GDP/p today is about where China’s was in ’07 and will skyrocket from here. India leapfrog'd to UPI and 5G as well.
3. Investors, labs and industry barely were a tight circle until few years ago. Deep tech needs all 3 on the same page. IIT Madras built the Researchpark early and now we have 567 startups (worth 74,000 crore+). Ather and Agnikul are both IITMRP’s early outcomes.
4. Early proofs are already here. Indian Space-tech is already the proof. Skyroot flew India's 1st privately built rocket in ’22. Agnikul launched from India's first private launchpad in 2024, on a 3D-printed engine. Pixxel has 6 hyperspectral satellites in orbit. And defence-tech firm Tonbo Imaging just got IPO’ed. Ather, Ideaforge and so on the list is building fast.
5. The first wave becomes deep tech risk appetite. eBay bought PayPal in 2002. That year Musk started SpaceX. Thiel co-founded Palantir, then Founders Fund, which became an early backer of SpaceX, Anduril and Neuralink and many others. One exit -> a generation of moonshots.
And we’re ON.
Indian second time entreprenuers are taking moonshot attempts. Deepinder (Zomato) is building aircrafts. Neeraj (CoinDCX) is building reusable rockets. Agrani (AI chips) and Ultraviolette (electric motorcycles). Many $10Mns of stealth rounds in robotics, chips, AI labs have happened over the last few months.
And yes, yes, the noise is loud too.
We’re 1.4 billion people, a young ecosystem. Many won’t get funded, and you’ll hear about it.
But India wouldn’t have to climb one wave at a time.
We’ll skip the waves and we’ll land right in the moment. Extremely LONG on India and it becoming an epicentre of real innovation over the coming decade.
Why are Indian VCs so afraid to take risk and make money?
Someone should go to India and take risk and make money.

One of the major reasons why “vibe coding as a threat to SaaS” was a mirage
Why do movie theatres don’t have QR code on every seat to order & pay?
All their profit is F&B - they shd make it seamless.
Every year, Ravan falls.
Not because evil is weak but because the right team, with the right tools, always wins.
D2C brands face their own ten-headed demon every day. High RTO. Cart abandonment. Checkout friction. COD risk. Low conversions. Customer drop-offs.
This Dussehra, GoKwik’s entire suite stands with your brand - Kwik Checkout, Kwik Pass, Kwik Engage, Kwik Ads and Kwik Ship to defeat every obstacle standing between you and growth.
Burai ka ant. D2C ka naya arambh. 🏹

I don’t know what Zouk is doing right, but wherever I go, offices, events, or just about any gathering, I somehow end up spotting Zouk bags on almost every other woman.
When a brand becomes this visible without you even consciously looking for it, you know they’re doing something right.
Kudos to the team at Zouk! 👏
When speaking to a founder if they use
ARR then they are in venture stage vs Realised Revenue for the year/qtr then growth stage
Most companies don’t know who are “AI champions” within their own company.
Dashboard sab bana lete hai who r the win shipping agents and leading the charts.
Also, why focus on who aren’t adopting AI - need is to identify drivers
Brands which are doing >25 creatives a day are getting much better ROAS. Massive opportunity today to scale creatives.
Growth isn’t just what we measure , it’s what we’re building. 🚀
Here’s GoKwik in the news lately:

what %age of users now give tips on uber, zomato, swiggy etc? @das_think any clue
Jackets in India meant winter. Blutyga changed that. ☀️
India’s first sunscreen jacket brand - built for summer, UV protection you wear, not apply.
But scaling a category you created from scratch? Five D2C problems hit at once.
GoKwik solved all five 👇
→ Checkout conversion jumped to 55%
→ Customer identification 3% → 31% via KwikPass
→ Cart recovery, upsell and cross-sell automated via KwikEngage
→ RTO brought down to 7% via Kwik Ship
“GoKwik is more like a D2C guru than a vendor for Blutyga. Whatever they launch, we are more than happy to test it.”

As we get ready to open @thelayerproject to everyone, we wanted to thank the people who helped make it possible those who trusted us, gave us their time, and helped build it alongside us.
The Wall of Gratitude is now live on our website. A small thank you to everyone who’s been part of the journey.

Looking forward to this.

This ad cracked me up! We're so used to double-checking everything, but checkouts really just need to be seamless and kwik.

Had the best time listening to the legendary @ValaAfshar in San Francisco. Thank you for inspiring us every day & for the powerful lessons on agentic innovation. @tchirag and I are taking plenty of ideas back to India to put into action :)
@gokwik
Lock the car door. Walk away. Walk back to check it again. Sound familiar?
We double-check most things in life, from a mic, to gas knobs, to door locks. Except checkout on GoKwik.
When you see "Powered by GoKwik", check nahi, seedha checkout karo! 👇

Why do we double check everything? Aisa kyu?
Send an email to your accounts team, then call the same person: “Saar, did u get my email?”
Lock your Car, it beeps, yet you go & pull the door handle to check if it’s actually locked.
There is always that lack of trust. This GoKwik ad plays on the same insight. Fun hai. Dekho!
