Opposing groups (anti-asylum protesters and counter-protesters) were facing each other; Greater Manchester Police had barriers up and were keeping the sides apart. The blonde woman with the brown dog is a local resident. She argues with officers after counter-protesters call her a “Nazi,” and she tells police she does not want Afghan men housed in the centre of Altrincham. Officers move her away from the confrontation line. Contemporary posts of the same clip (for example by David Atherton) describe exactly that exchange.
