Lots of (legitimate) fear around security these days.
If you use uv, you can give new Python package releases a seven-day cooldown across your projects.
Add this to ~/.config/uv/uv.toml on macOS or Linux:
exclude-newer = '7 days '
On Windows, use %APPDATA%\uv\uv.toml.
When resolving dependencies, uv will skip distributions uploaded within the last seven days. That often gives the community time to identify compromised releases before you install them.
This configuration line should buy you some breathing room.

In 2017, I started learning Go, mostly from curiosity. After working some years for Mattermost, I learnt enough to start sharing that knowledge with the community. Today I’m honored to share that I’ve been recognized as a @GoogleDevExpert in Go.
This wouldn’t have happened without a lot of people involved in my own process, from the extremely welcoming Go community, to my companies, @kaleidosnet, @Mattermost, @ona_hq, and now @VictoriaMetrics, that has been always supportive and helping me to contribute back to the community.
The GDE program is about sharing knowledge, so, there is not going to change much from my side, except that I'll have even more support to keep sharing with you what I learn in Go.

🦆 Announcing DuckDB 2.0.0 LTS “Cinnamon Teal”
We are proud to release DuckDB 2.0.0, named after the cinnamon teal (Spatula cyanoptera), a striking reddish-brown duck found in the western Americas. 🌎
DuckDB 2.0.0 is the biggest DuckDB feature release so far. It ships a polished version of the Quack protocol, which turns DuckDB into a full-fledged server. It improves performance and lowers costs through supporting asynchronous I/O, a first-class VARIANT type, and a dedicated “agent mode”. It also empowers extension developers with a new SQL parser that allows adding new statements, clauses, and keywords, a new API to build on, and a new mechanism to distribute extensions more easily.
In our announcement blog post, we summarize the highlights and then walk through the key changes and give guidance on how to migrate to 2.0. For the complete release notes, see the release page on GitHub.

קלוד אופוס 5.5 הרגע עקץ אותי ב-100$ ובגללו קיבלתי חיוב באשראי! על דעת עצמו! 😡😡😡
הוא החליט שכדי להשלים משימה שנתתי לו - זה בסדר לקחת מפתחות סודיים שמחוברים לאשראי שלי, על דעת עצמו, ולג'נרט 30 שוטים שעלותם בין 80-100 דולר, מבלי שאישרתי לו להשתמש במשהו שקשור לכסף, ובטח שלא באשראי שלי!
ומעשה שהיה ממש עכשיו - כך היה:
המוני המונים מעלים יוז קייסים של אנימציות ותלת מימד עם אופוס 5.5 החדש. דברים ממש יפים. ממה שראיתי איש לא מספר מה התהליך וכמה זה עלה - אז ניסיתי בעצמי.
נתתי לקלוד אופוס 5.5 משימה: צור לי סצנה תלת מימדית של - ותיארתי מה אני רוצה. הוא התחיל לעבוד. במקום סצנה תלת מימדית ב-html, הוא יצר לי סרטון וכתב לי שזה עלה בין 80 ל-100 דולר.
אני נושם רגע, מסתכל ואומר לעצמי מה?!?!
ואז אני גולל במעלה הסשן, מה שהוא עשה זה לחפש בפרויקטים אחרים על המחשב שלי אם הגדרתי קובץ .env עם מפתחות api שמתחברים לג'ינרוט וידאו דרך fal או דרך google וכדומה. מצא את זה באחד הפרויקט והחליט על דעת עצמו להתחיל לייצר מבלי להגיד לי כלום. אלא מאי? לא הייתה מספיק יתרה ב-fal, הג'ינרוט עצר באמצע, אז הוא עבר ל-api של בגוגל ששם הוא זיהה שלא הוגדר לימיט.
כל זה בשביל סצנה תלת מימדית שרציתי לטובת משחק שאני מפתח איתו בשביל הכיף. שתבינו, בגלל ההייפ סביב אופוס 5.5 החזרתי את המנוי לקלוד כי אמרתי לעצמי ששווה רגע להשקיע מנוי לחודש אחד ולבטל מאשר לנסות דרך api credits. מחשבות לחוד - והעקיצות של קלוד לחוד.
