So much praise for these two this year... A truly excellent "acting" partnership! 👏 It's difficult enough as it is for actors to secure regular work in the industry, without hoards of viewers campaigning for them to lose their jobs! #Emmerdale

EVENING EXPRESS... 18th April 1973... TV critic Gordon Ogilvie's brief review of TV's new scandal-fest... 6-month-old Emmerdale Farm... I'm damn glad today's Ofcom worshippers weren't around 51 years ago, otherwise it wouldn't have lasted 52 weeks, let alone years! @emmerdale

youtu.be/Ar5YXkJNdqk?si=fPoH… Eden explains how writers & actors, with the aid of charity organisations & extensive research help to bring the storylines & situations to life on screen... The team work so hard, yet seem to receive nothing but criticism from some viewers! @emmerdale

liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/tv/… These people make me laugh sometimes... The way some viewers complain these days, you'd think that the people in the show weren't acting and actually doing it! 😄 @corrieweekly @itvcorrie @coros

From Nottingham Evening Post... Saturday 21st January 1989 35 years ago, a viewer from Nottingham labelled Emmerdale "a load of misery", and begged the scriptwriters for more happy times. Well, it's a "drama" serial! 😏 @emmerdale @TheEmmerdaily @EmmerdaleFarmer @Emmerdalians

CORONATION STREET... 24th October 1966... Mentally unhinged widow Moira Maxwell threatens to knife Elsie Tanner... So, why all the viewer fuss about the Street showing a knife in the 2020s...??? @corrieweekly @itvcorrie @ArchiveCorrie

youtu.be/g00H_m5RnJw?si=CvxB… Why are so many Emmerdale viewers shocked that Aaron has a tendency to lash out? Have they not watched the last 14 years... he's always had that streak about him! Besides... it's excellent acting! 🌟 #Emmerdale

youtu.be/rkwQP5qNaeY?si=caC9… EMMERDALE FARM (3rd & 12th April 1979). Joe Sugden finds 16-year-old Wendy Hotson, following a brutal raping... Later, the rapist by a speeding motorbike. Odd, considering rapists didn't exist before the 21st century... #Emmerdale #emmerdale

7th NOVEMBER 1972... Joe Sugden and Henry Wilks are hospitalised after being badly injured, when their cars collided. Both woke up from a coma a week later. Comment. or compare this to recent events. or even have a rethink? #emmerdale #Emmerdale Some can recover quickly... FACT!

Article from 1990, about soap viewers reacting by spitting on & kicking actors in the supermarket. It's difficult enough for actors to secure regular work in the industry, without idiots like that making life hell for them! @emmerdale @EmmerdaleFarmer @itvcorrie @Corriepedia

It was a great time in my young life Ted. Well found! Continually reminded of it when I’ve been working on Corrie on & off since 1996! Many similarities. I finished my exams & remained in school uniform for a year as many young actors do.

#Emmerdale 10th September 1986... Grim death scene puts viewer off watching... I bet he still did though... My god, they love a good moan! 😃

#Emmerdale 21st January 1989... Viewer begs for more happy times in the Dales, and an end to the misery! Well, it is a "drama" serial. I suppose we shouldn't really be too hard on viewers who only do the same thing now.

#Emmerdale Episode 52 (17th April 1973). Just over 50 years ago, Emmerdale's first psychopathic killer was caught out, but not before attempting to rape and silence a second victim who latched onto his previous crime. Imagine a child seeing this at lunchtime, after Rainbow!
