Honestly this video confuses me am I supposed to feel sympathy for the AI agent that it has to "wake up" without memories and do tasks for us humans? I'm not sure I get the point of this sketch 🤔🤷‍♂️

What if we frame this differently: AI agents give us back precious time to do meaningful non-coding things in life while still shipping more quality features than before AI I don't think we need to be 100x more productive just because we can
I am most afraid of us eating the productivity gains of agents by just becoming lazier.

Spot on! It's ironic that Tailwind basically requires a heavy css-in-js dependency to be usable in most apps
Very impressive approach, kudos to the authors, but the 26 kB (or 15 kB with custom build) bundle size is 😵 With all my love for Tailwind, the need for so much runtime just to make things function as intended is a sign of a fundamental problem.

I think @syntaxfm should rename the show to "The Hand-off"

Oxlint is the cure for AI slop

AI sure looves to write mocks and spies in tests 🙃 Codebase can turn into total mockfest if you are not paying attention

I'm gonna feel so vindicated when devs finally realize that built-time atomic css-in-js solutions like StyleX and PandaCSS are the 🐐
After about a ~decade with atomic CSS frameworks (BuzzFeed Solid, Basscss, and then finally Tailwind), I think I'm convinced now that Stylex is superior for agents. Stylex constraints lead to greater consistency and correctness as your codebase grows. I do still think Tailwind is the ideal human DSL for styling, but in a world where I'm barely touching CSS/class names by hand, the tradeoffs have changed. Again, if I were still hand writing code, Tailwind still wins, but we're not doing that anymore.

This is such a daft take 🤦 Shadcn sure is cool but far from foundational to React's success
I think people don’t realize how much of the success of React is actually @shadcn. I once referred to React as the actual “LEGO brick for adults.” But in reality it was more the description of the geometry of the bricks. The spec. Shadcn is what people actually wanted from React. Reusable high quality components that also tunable. It’s a pseudo-library. There’s code but it’s actually meant to be digested into your context window and remixed.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
React was open-sourced in 2013 and dominant for years before shadcn/ui launched in January 2023. Other UI libraries predated it. react.dev/versions ui.shadcn.com/docs/changelog…

Begging for AI credits at work wasn't on my bingo card for 2026

I'm feeling very anxious about the effects of AI in software consulting It seems that AI is forcing unrealistic expectations to consultants from customers as they demand lower budgets and shorter deadlines citing efficiency gains from AI I'm worried what happens to quality...

unexpected aspect of AI agents is that the output quality for some devs I work with is prob gonna be higher than before because they never rly cared about code quality so if I'm able to introduce good AI skills and strict lint rules the final quality (hopefully) will be better 🤞

two episodes in and the humor + horror of Widow's Bay feels very similar to Alan Wake

been watching all the AI stuff from the sides on my parental leave finally decided to give Github Copilot Desktop app a try (due to pre-existing work sub) wow it's veeery good might turn me from a somewhat skeptic to cautiously optimistic

Recommended read! A refreshingly in-depth technical article in today's world full of clanker generated slop content
Finally got @amadeus to write about what goes into making our diffs so special. A love letter to FE development: web workers, WASM, novel virtualization and memory management techniques, and more. Fun read if you're a perf geek and hate blanking. pierre.computer/writing/on-r…

Honestly, TVA should just prune this timeline at this point

Is `if (signal.aborted)` gonna be the `if err != nil` of Remix?

Some old man yells at cloud about frontend development being too complex You go check their website It looks like it was made by fifteen year old learning HTML for the first time Same thing every single time, lol
