I could not agree more.
A lovely Christmas advert. Take notice John Lewis. Dogs Trust would be a worthy winner this year. 🎄💕

🎉💜🎉 WHOOOOOOOP WHOOOOOOOP!!! WE DID IT!!! 🎉💜🎉 10,026 SIGNATURES! AND STILL GOING UP!! 🥳🥳 YES!!! WE'VE SMASHED THROUGH OUR FIRST 10,000 SIGNATURE MILESTONE! ❤️🙌 I am absolutely DELIGHTED!!! This petition wants to send a simple but incredibly important message: ❤️ WOMEN MATTER. ❤️ GIRLS MATTER. ❤️ MOTHERS MATTER. ❤️ WORDS MATTER. And now OVER 10,000 PEOPLE HAVE PUT THEIR NAMES TO THAT MESSAGE! 👏👏👏 The petition calls for government departments, the NHS, education and publicly funded bodies to retain clear, sex-specific language, using words such as women, girls, mothers and pregnant women as the primary and default terms. Because language matters. If words lose their meaning, they lose their purpose. And when we're talking about healthcare, safeguarding, education and women's lives, clarity really does matter. 💜 WHAT HAPPENS NOW? We've reached the 10,000-signature threshold for a Government response! 🇬🇧 But this is NOT the finish line! The petition remains open until 9 MARCH 2027, and the next parliamentary milestone is 100,000 signatures, when it can be considered for debate. So PLEASE don't stop sharing! 💜 Keep signing! 💜 Keep reposting! 💜 Keep telling your friends and family! 💜 Keep spreading the word! And most importantly… ❤️ THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU!!! ❤️ To every person who signed, shared, encouraged others, helped promote the petition or simply refused to let the message disappear you have helped us get here! 10,014 VOICES AND COUNTING! Now, shall we see just how far we can take this? 🔗 petition.parliament.uk/petit… 💜 WE DID IT!!! ONWARDS AND UPWARDS!!! 💜 #WordsMatter #SayWoman #SayMother #Petition779105 #10000Signatures
💜🎉 ONLY 115 SIGNATURES TO GO!!! 🎉💜 9,885 SIGNATURES! 🥳 We're SO close to reaching our first milestone of 10,000 signatures, and I genuinely believe we can get there with one final big push! WOMEN. GIRLS. MOTHERS. PREGNANT WOMEN. These aren't complicated words. They describe real people, real lives and real biological experiences. Words matter. Meanings matter. And if we lose the meaning of words, we lose the clarity they provide. In healthcare, education, safeguarding and public policy, clear language helps everyone understand who is being discussed, what their needs are and why those needs matter. Our petition asks for sex-specific words to remain the primary and default language used by government departments, the NHS, educational institutions and publicly funded bodies. And we're just 115 signatures away from the threshold for a Government response! 💜 🙏 CAN YOU HELP US GET THERE? ✅ Sign the petition if you haven't already. ✅ Share it on X, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and anywhere else you can! ✅ Send it to friends, family and colleagues. ✅ Ask just ONE other person to sign. Imagine what we could achieve if everyone who has already signed persuaded just one more person! This campaign is about something simple, positive and important: Recognising women. Respecting motherhood. Protecting clarity in language. ❤️ 🔗 SIGN AND SHARE HERE: petition.parliament.uk/petit… 💜 10,000 - WE'RE COMING FOR YOU! 💜 A huge THANK YOU to every single person who has signed, shared and supported this petition. You're helping make our voices heard! #WordsMatter #SayWoman #SayMother #Petition779105

Religious hate crimes, you say?
This Islamophobia Awareness Month, we must shine a light on the abhorrent hatred and discrimination Muslims continue to face. In the last year alone, religious hate crimes targeting Muslims rose by 15% in England and Wales. This is utterly unacceptable. London will always stand against hatred, prejudice and discrimination.

UK security agencies still assess Islamist extremism as the largest terrorism threat. MI5's Islamist-related caseload remains roughly 75% of its counter-terrorism work, according to recent threat assessments. isdglobal.org/digital-dispat…

More facts for anyone interested...
Prince Albert apologised for slavery back in 1840 in a speech at an international anti-slavery meeting in London. 186 years ago… Perhaps the Prime Minister would do better to focus on the 50 million people enslaved TODAY - four times the number transported throughout 300 years of transatlantic slavery.

In 1952, an English teacher named Cecil Dormand secretly paid for a dirt-poor 11-year-old to take a drama course. He never told him and the boy didn’t find out until decades later. By then, he was a knight, that little boy’s name was Patrick Stewart. He was born into a poor family in Mirfield, a small mill town in Yorkshire and his father came home from World War II a violent man, and he was violent toward Patrick’s mother. Young Patrick learned exactly when to step between his father’s fist and his mother. An English teacher put a copy of Shakespeare in his hand and told him to get up and perform. He never stopped and left school at 15. By 19 he was completely bald... most agencies told him he'd never make it because of that. In 1987, the LA Times called him an “unknown British Shakespearean actor” when he was cast as Captain Picard. Then he became one of the most famous faces on Earth. You’ve probably heard that part. Here’s the part you haven’t: He spent decades as a patron of Refuge, sheltering women and children from domestic violence. But he never stopped trying to understand his father. He dug up a 1940 newspaper clipping that said his dad had come home with severe shell shock. He went to France and walked the ground where his father’s unit was pinned down under bombing for hours. He learned his father had PTSD, and nobody ever helped him. So Patrick became an ambassador for Combat Stress, a charity that helps veterans. In 2013, a young woman at a Texas convention told him she was a survivor of domestic violence. He asked, “My dear, are you okay?” Then he hopped off the stage, held her, and told her: “You never have to go through that again, you’re safe now.” At Dragon Con, a Make-A-Wish girl dressed as Spock came to meet him. 2,000 people were waiting for him to speak... he sat down and talked with her for 15 minutes, making all of them wait. He told her that since they were friends now, whenever she saw him on screen she could wave and say, “Hello Patrick.” After 9/11, he felt helpless, so he brought his one-man A Christmas Carol back to Broadway for a full week of charity shows. He played every character himself and donated every cent. In 2019 he did it again, and every dollar went to feeding hungry New Yorkers. In 2017, he fostered a pit bull named Ginger, who had been rescued from a dogfighting ring. She was his first dog in more than 50 years. He couldn’t bring her home to England, so he found her a family. Then he kept fostering more. When he said he was done with Star Trek so many people told him the show had gotten them through the hardest times of their lives. So he wanted to see if Picard could do it one more time. Rest in Peace, Sir Patrick 🖖

What a heartbreaking week it has been. Sir Patrick Stewart was a friend, a colleague, and a magnificent actor. From the stage to the bridge of the Enterprise, he brought intelligence, grace, and a deep sense of humanity to everything he did. Captain Picard stood for the best of us, and so did the man who played him. I was filled with affection and admiration for him and his work. My heart goes out to Sunny and his family. He will be deeply missed.

I don’t want to post the video. You’ve all seen it. But I do want to write a love letter… Dear everyone in Britain, ( even you illegals) Just so you understand. The poppy is for the boys who never got to grow old. For the boys who were still somebody’s baby, brother, uncle or father. More than 600,000 of them. It doesn’t matter if you support war, hate your country, think you are a woman (even though you are a man). It doesn’t matter which God you pray to, or if you pray to none at all. It doesn’t matter who you vote for, what climate narrative you believe, or whether you believe Israel should exist or not! The poppy isn’t for you! It’s for those who came before. Those who fought for your right to be weird, annoying or even foreign. The poppy is how we say thank you. Thank you for giving us time, peace and choice. And attempting to ban our poppy by declaring it politically divisive isn’t a move towards freedom. It is an act of suppression. Understand that. The poppy is about love and loss. For you! So stick your rainbow flags and every other flag where the sun doesn’t shine and just wear your poppy. Those boys did not die as symbols. They died for you! Did you know that poppies grew across the battlefields where so many fell? As though even the land refused to forget the blood once given to defend it. So the poppy is for them. For those who came before us and paid in youth, in hope, in breath, in blood, so that we might have the freedom to be arseholes. So that we might even have the freedom to fight over the ridiculous, the inconsequential and the insane. Revere it, celebrate it and wear it. The very least you can do is that. Best The ordinary people.

Two days ago, Australian MP Helen Haines was deliberately run over twice by a pro-Palestine activist outside her office. Today, both her legs were amputated. Despite her speaking out about Gaza, he still didn’t consider it enough, so he tried to murder her. This is the Palestinian cult at its core, a terrorist movement.
