That’s going to be the new norm going forward.
The time of audhd hyperfocus on code/systems alone, ignoring downstream users is over. The clankers will take care of that going forward.
Long horizon and human touch is the wetware value add that all of us need to provide.
Amazon's leadership is very good at writing, but you still need to read between the lines.
What I read between these lines:
Engineers who are not "product engineers" (aka eng + PM interest) and don't like to be customer-facing will not have a future inside of Amazon

A conversation that has happened many times in banking, with various flavor texts, from fintech to public banking to microfinance.
A: We think there is an opportunity to write loans to an underserved population.
B: At usuriously high rates?
A: No, at usual rates. Maybe lower.
Been suspiciously quiet after all

Not a coincidence that small & high performance electric motors are on the forefront of non-trivial re-shoring both in Europe and USA

So this thing is going to be beaten by a fucking BMW fridge on wheels for the 1000km runs?
My thoughts on the new Tesla Roadster are mixed.
The stunts were truly impressive and congrats to those who made it happen.
However, I don't think I'd want that in a car. It will never be road legal, probably nullifying your warranty. And based on the configuration, you are losing too much with just one seat.
The 'Thrust' package is probably the best option, but I'm still mad we didn't just get the 2017 Roadster.
I feel like the design got worse: we lost half the range, 2 seats, and gained 0.9-sec 0-60 and some downforce. It's cool, but it's nothing like what it was supposed to be. I guess that's Tesla in 2026, ahead of Elon pushing for a merger with SpaceX.
Ich freu mich schon auf die Verkaufszahlen. Wird ein spannender Realitätsabgleich fürs Institut werden.

In my career, compilers have always generated better code that I ever could have. I find this to be increasingly so with contemporary AIs.
But you know what neither can do better than me?
Knowing what software to write, what shape it should take, and what I want it to do.
The entire history of software engineering has been one of rising levels of abstraction.
This is how it was, how it is now, and how it shall be in the fullness of time.
