It is amazing to watch the party that has been in govt now for over a decade act like it has no responsibility for allowing certain families and individuals terrorise estates. This problem does not end by Fiachra in Killiney getting off the bag.

John doesn’t understand why young men roll their eyes when he warns them of Mamdani gulags
I live in one of the bluest states in America. I have kids and know plenty of young conservative men here.
Young women are a solid blue wall.
It was young men that decided this election.
Two things stand out from my conversations with them:
1. They don’t want war.
It’s not the fighting. They’ve watched an entire generation return from the Middle East struggling with PTSD, physical injuries, and shattered lives.
I thought the relatively low casualty count would help Trump. I was wrong.
The long Navy deployments and broken promises of a quick victory turned many against the war.
Young men think they’re invincible. They’re less afraid of dying than of spending the rest of their lives dealing with the physical and psychological scars of another Middle East war.
2. They don’t fear communism.
That doesn’t mean they support the DSA. They simply aren’t particularly concerned about it.
The Great Leap Forward, Soviet gulags, and East German Stasi were been removed from textbooks after Marxists took over the education system.
When I warn them about the dangers of the DSA and politicians like Mamdani, they tune out. Push harder, and they roll their eyes.
That’s a serious problem for Republicans.
And we’re losing them because of it.

They're saying on the tv that because Alaska allows for ranked voting (the transferable vote), it may be weeks before a result is called. There's only four of them, any fucking constituency in Ireland with 15 on the ballot would have it sorted out in a day

Love this. Even in the early 90s when I spent a bit of time around Kilburn these Irish bars were still massive. Loads of them. All gone now. (Though I was in one in Acton in the early 2000s...)

Pope Leo and Bob Dylan look like they're starring in an early '90s CBS drama in which two priests - one by the book and one who does things his own way - try to solve mysteries in their seemingly sleepy Midwestern town that hides a seedy underbelly.

Imagine being deported over Pineapple Pizza

Dem victory means Texas can finally ban child marriage!
That’s a meaningful difference to how GOP ran the state.
The first two bills I will be filing this session are both by members who have ascended to higher callings.
Jon Rosenthal’s bill banning the practice of child marriage in Texas and James Talarico’s bill that would grant pregnant women the right to a divorce - because right now they cannot legally get divorced while pregnant, even if they are the victim of domestic violence.
