A lot of ppl will disagree but I think the ACA was fantastic healthcare policy, the execution was a bit wobbly tho. The criticism that it increased marketplace premiums always fell flat to me bc of the subsidies and what the alternative meant for disabled people.

One more comment, for this to NOT harm people, we will need leftist government admins in perpetuity (and we all know the left sucks at winning elections). Imagine everyone got insurance and then a republican come into office and just cuts mental health coverage…

As someone who has worked extensively with government and private health insurance companies…I think this is an awful idea 😃. I do not think the government should be the only insurer of health insurance. Like at all.

2 payer solutions. Expand Medicaid, relax certain work requirements, increase speed to coverage (meaning as soon as someone leaves or quits their job they can get covered asap). Let private insurers still exist in their current form with more anti-competitive regulation.
