The barrage of angry, profanity-laden replies only reveals how many people completely missed the point of my post. I'm not going to 'feed the trolls' by responding individually but I'll clarify my intended point here for anyone who cares. First of all, my post was commenting on a TREND, not this specific incident. I emphasized that in the OP. The trend that concerns me is pro pilots losing sight of the foundational rule to AVIATE (fly the airplane) first, and to de-prioritize ATC comms in an emergency unless there's something the controller can actually to do help rectify the emergency. The vast majority of posts calling me ignorant because the person posting thought I didn't understand she was the Pilot Monitoring were timestamped after I clarified that point unambiguously in my first reply . And by the way, to all you 'experts' who called me stupid for not knowing 'she was the PNF', just FYI the industry stopped using the phrase 'Pilot Not Flying' in the mid-2000s. Pilot Monitoring is the current phraseology, and I was well aware of her role. All the posts about how the situation was unrecoverable by the time of her final transmissions completely missed the point. Yes, the situation was obviously beyond recovery by the later transmissions. That's completely beside the point. It was clear they were icing up and trying to climb out of it when she requested FL370. Nobody here has any way of knowing exactly WHEN it become unrecoverable. All we know for sure is that she was talking to ATC most of the time, when there was absolutely nothing to be gained by doing so. Her attentions should have been laser focused on what if anything still COULD be done to save the airplane. Instead she was talking to ATC, pointlessly, far too much. Had she instead been focused on assisting the PF, would that have changed the outcome? From the sounds of things, probably not. But again, that's completely beside the point I was making. I never suggested the upset was recoverable or that she could have performed some miracle maneuver to recover the airplane. All I said was that narrating the developing emergency on ATC frequency to a controller who couldn't possibly do anything help was the LAST thing she should have been doing. One last time: My post was about a TREND, and although this situation probably wasn't recoverable, being distracted by ATC comms at a time like that evidences poor training to me. Another YT vid I saw recently had a flight instructor screaming "MAYDAY MAYDAY MAYDAY. WE'RE IN A SPIN - WE'RE IN A SPIN - WE NEED HELP *QUICKLY*!!!" That one was recoverable. And the absolute last thing the CFI should have been doing was talking on the radio, which served no purpose whatsoever. My opinion stands on the TREND of too many pro pilots losing sight of the prime directive of Aviatiate-Navigate-Communicate. As for all of you who somehow conflated that and thought I said she was the PF or that she could have recovered had her attention not been distracted, sorry, but you made that story up in your heads. That's not what I wrote so I'm not going to defend myself against all the silly attacks accusing me of things unrelated to my post.

Anthony de Mello 🗣️ “A good way to discover your shortcomings,” said the Master, “is to observe what irritates you in others.” "Live your life as you see fit. That's not selfish. Selfish is to demand that others live their lives as you see fit." "Seek to change yourself, not other people. It is easier to protect your feet with slippers than to carpet the whole of the earth." "If people want happiness so badly, why don’t they attempt to understand their false beliefs? First, because it never occurs to them to see them as false or even as beliefs. They see them as facts and reality, so deeply have they been programmed." “As soon as you look at the world through an ideology you are finished. No reality fits an ideology. Life is beyond that. … That is why people are always searching for a meaning to life… Meaning is only found when you go beyond meaning." “People who want a cure, provided they can have it without pain, are like those who favour progress, provided they can have it without change.” “The world is full of sorrow. The root of sorrow is attachment. The uprooting of sorrow means the uprooting, the dropping of attachments.” "Sinners often speak the truth. And saints have led people astray. Examine what is said, not the one who says it." “Suffering occurs when you clash with reality. When your illusions clash with reality, when your falsehoods clash with truth, then you have suffering. Otherwise there is no suffering.” “All I can do for you is help you to unlearn. That’s what learning is all about where spirituality is concerned: unlearning, unlearning almost everything you’ve been taught. A willingness to unlearn, to listen.” “Think of a flabby person covered with fat. That is what your mind can become—flabby, covered with layers of fat till it becomes too dull and lazy to think, to observe, to explore, to discover. It loses its alertness, its aliveness, its flexibility and goes to sleep. What are these layers? Every belief that you hold, every conclusion you have reached about persons and things, every habit and every attachment. In your formative years you should have been helped to scrape off these layers and liberate your mind. Instead your society, your culture, which put these layers on your mind in the first place, has educated you to not even notice them, to go to sleep and let other people—the experts: your politicians, your cultural and religious leaders—do your thinking for you. So you are weighed down with the load of unexamined, unquestioned authority and tradition.” “When you come to see you are not as wise today as you thought you were yesterday, you are wiser today.” “Of what use is it to be tolerant of others if you are convinced that you are right and everyone who disagrees with you is wrong? That isn’t tolerance but condescension.” “To be properly wicked, you do not have to break the Law. Just observe it to the letter.” “Certainty is the culprit. The spiritual person knows uncertainty—a state of mind unknown to the religious fanatic.” “Most people end up being conformists; they adapt to prison life. A few become reformers; they fight for better lighting, better ventilation. Hardly anyone becomes a rebel, a revolutionary who breaks down the prison walls. You can only be a revolutionary when you see the prison walls in the first place.” “The neurotic is a person who worries about something that did not happen in the past. He’s not like us normal people who worry about things that will not happen in the future.” “You listen,” said the Master, “not to discover, but to find something that confirms your own thoughts. You argue, not to find the truth, but to vindicate your thinking.” "Another illusion is that external events have the power to hurt you, that other people have the power to hurt you. They don't. It's you who give this power to them." "Enlightenment is: absolute cooperation with the inevitable." “If you see through yourself, you will see through everyone.”

JUST IN: The man who stopped the school shooting in Bend, Oregon, has been identified as 36-year-old Kalub Giamanco. Giamanco, a carpenter, was reportedly driving home for lunch when he heard gunshots. After hearing the gunshots, Giamanco, who has a concealed carry permit, followed the suspect into the school. He then shot and killed 16-year-old John J Griffin moments after the teen opened fire into a special education classroom. Giamanco, who has two children of his own who attend the school, is family friends with one of the victims, a 7-year-old who uses a wheelchair and was shot in the face. The 7-year-old survived and is in the hospital. Three children at Silver Rail Elementary School were killed. Their ages are 5, 8, and 11. According to Giamanco's brother, Giamanco doesn't feel like a hero because he feels guilty for not being able to save more children. You are a hero, Kalub.

Every other tweet on here seems to be about CRWV’s bond yields blowing out toward 15%. As a reminder, before any systemic “event” unfolds, backstops would emerge. For one, the U.S. cannot afford to fall behind China in the AI race, & two, AI-driven productivity growth is arguably the administration’s best shot at growing nominal GDP faster than the debt burden.
