tell me you're a palaeontologist on holiday without telling me you're a palaeontologist on holiday
respectfully, this is a senseless take. an accredited museum can't just sell a Rosetti to "plug a £300m hole in the council's budget", nor does the percentage of a museum's collection on display indicate its value? why is our arts/culture sector expected to take every hit!
Birmingham City Council owns an artwork collection valued at almost half a billion pounds, a BBC investigation has discovered.
The scale of the council-owned art collection has also revealed.

Public art collections are not an asset, they are a living legacy owned in common for current and future generations.

had the loveliest, busiest weekend at Lyme Regis fossil festival - thank you to everyone who came to chat with us and play extinction kerplunk! (and a special shout out to those who brought us dogs to pet in our hour of need). I will now be lying down for 3-5 business days x
I literally cried myself a black eye when I got my #LeavingCert results (yes!) because I thought my life was over. It wasn't - I went to college, got two degrees, and found a career I love! A bunch of intense exams aren't an indication of what the rest of your life will be like!

Katy and Ellie from @NHM_London just gave us a great overview of how to deal with measuring 28 million specimens in order to plan a massive move #natsca2024

Not enough people are talking about Birmingham having 100% of its arts funding axed by 2026.
In two years the UK’s second city will contribute NOTHING towards its arts.
This is fucked. Why is it not front page news? Would we see such negligence in Manchester, Glasgow, Bristol? – at Birmingham, England

Absolutely heartbreaking news. Incredibly pivotal location in my life and I probably wouldn’t be working in the industry without it. Every day culture gets burned for no good reason
