Sorry I don’t want my package to be directed to my local post office that’s open 9-5 Mon to Fri (when I’m a work cuz I have a FUCKING JOB) and there’s always a line. I do appreciate post offices are important but they simply aren’t open when I need them, parcel locker for the win
Every time @auspost redirects a package to a new parcel locker in the boondogs of your town or suburb, the small business owners of your Licensed Post Office it should have gone to lose a handling commission. These commissions are their lifeblood. In this excellent article in The Senior, @AnnaHoulahan explains the impact of these lockers on the elderly and disabled and that - according to Australia Post - residents can opt out of having their packages taken to a locker. So if you want to support your LPO, get on the blower to 13 76 78 (13 POST) and tell them NO to parcel lockers. (We think it should be an opt-in - maybe something for the two parliamentary inquiries looking at the changes Paul Graham is secretly making at Australia Post to consider.) #auspol @stemplemanmp @AnikaWells thesenior.com.au/story/93832…

We got your back, New York!
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Several figures here aren’t federal results or NY-specific. The $472B combines US wide pledges: Micron's $250B is nationwide (NY site $100B) Anthropic's $50B covers TX and NY. The 48% murder drop is from NY's state run GIVE program (28 departments, Jan – May 2026). arkolith.com/news/news-micr… therepublic.com/?p=843020 governor.ny.gov/news/safer-str…

Unearthed video: Bill Clinton praises the 2007 University of Michigan senior speaker, Abdul El-Sayed, on his commencement speech "I don't want to embarrass your senior speaker. But I wish every person in the world who believes that we are fated to have a clash of civilizations and cannot reach across the religious divides could've heard you speak today. I just wish every person in the world could've heard you speak today."

Stevens says her decision to endorse Mike Rogers was “not impulsive,” which means she lied to everyone she spoke to the night before when she told them she was not breaking with El-Sayed. Or she’s lying now.

He’s really fucking good on this issue wow
El-Sayed on a Palestinian homeland: "Only on Gaza and the West Bank? ... the parts that have been like now annihilated, and the parts that are being encroached upon by settlers? ... It's like, 'Hey, listen, after I eat, then you can have my seconds.'"

Siri, what does murder on TV look like?
“You brought up Saudi Arabia. You just don’t like the example you brought up.” I don’t know what Ross Douthat thought he was trying to do but Abdul El-Sayed was ready for it.

I don't think a US senator has ever spoken this simply and directly about the Palestinian cause, so calmly and free of the obfuscating jargon.

60 Minutes' Ross Douthat makes a fool out of himself trying to claim the Saudi Lobby is similar in power to the Israel Lobby. "[$33 million] was spent by AIPAC [against me]," Abdul El-Sayed counters. "Can you point to any other spending [like that]?!"

here's the entirety of the seeming mental breakdown Haley Stevens just had on CNN. One of the most bizarre and incoherent political interviews I can recall. Note how she's completely unable to explain why she changed her mind from supporting Abdul El-Sayed last night to endorsing Mike Rogers today.

It’s almost like, had the corporate media spent a bit more time scrutinizing Stevens and her extremist positions, and less time demanding Abdul El-Sayed condemn anything that sounds Muslim-y, things maybe would have unfolded a little differently!

there is no comparison between the way mike rogers has talked about all muslims and arabs vs the way abdul has spoken abt jewish michiganders. abdul has been kind courteous and actively spoken against hatred of all forms. anti israel sentiment is not anti semitic, it's the most popular position amongst democrats. this entire media narrative trying to find some kind of parity is INSANE.

If AES wins, which statistically he is heavily favored to win, Haley Stevens will have destroyed her political career for Israel and a guy who looks like this:

AIPAC is perfectly fine with either Congresswoman Stevens or Mike Rogers. If either of them win, Israel wins. #MISenDebate
