This Transgender Day of Remembrance take a moment to acknowledge those who were brave enough to choose to be seen and visible in a world that tells them they shouldn’t exist.
Nearly 50% of Black LBTQ adults have reported being fired or denied a job because of sexual orientation; as well as 30% receiving negative reviews or being denied a promotion at work. To report these issues, reach out to the Philadelphia Commission on Human Relations (PCHR).
Even though no official laws or federal statutes have been established, the PCHR accepts complaints of discrimination against the LBTQ+ community as a form of sex discrimination.

Among Black LGBT adults, 56% are tested for HIV at least once a year while 24% had never been tested for HIV.

Today we celebrate the assistance and facilities provided by L.G.B.T.Q. communities, these centers acted as the first points of contact for people looking for information, coming out, seeking safe spaces, or gearing up for political change. #LGBTCenterAwarenessDay
