Matt Jardine: award winning author and podcaster

Pema Chödrön tells an anecdote about the encounter of a young girl with the concept of inherent goodness. A nun from the abbey, during the harshest winter, shared a story that dates back to her tender age of seven. As she walked home from school with her mother, her heart was heavy with the burden of day-long bullying. On the verge of tears, she expressed her distress to her mother, who in return, gifted her a lesson that was to shape her worldview. She vividly recalls how her mother paused, held her hands, and peered into her young, tear-filled eyes. 'Mary,' she said, 'everybody is good. But some of us are very confused.' Such stories, laden with wisdom, mirror the complexities of life but also offer a beacon of hope towards understanding the essence of humanity.
