This 21-year-old was in a total state of shock. You can see the fear, trauma, confusion and overwhelm in his eyes. This is no way to treat anyone. It really has changed my view on and respect for The Olympics as an organisation. The press is a stressful pack of wolves that must be reined in and managed at all times.
The way Ilia gave those interviews with such grace and poise after the worst moment in his career, and having zero time to reflect, process or even call his mum, is testament to his character and inner core values. And people have the audacity to question why he won that beautiful fairplay award. I just want to hug him until no one and nothing can abuse him ever again.
Quite frankly, I wish he had told them all to fuck off. I’m glad he’s doing that now: “No. Fuck off, I’m not doing that.” Go Ilia Malinin. Note to self: Be more like Ilia Malinin. 🖤💜💛

It's been 8 years, and this is still the funniest video on the internet. 😂
"SHE CAME DOWN IN A BUBBLE, DOUG!" and "AM I WRRRRONNNG?" are two of the most quoted lines between me and my older kids. The head bob with the hair movement at "THE WICKED WITCH OF THE EAST, BRO!" will never, ever not be hilarious.
And it's one of the best quick examples of the nature of male friendship to boot.

I just found out that Sir Patrick Stewart has died.
Here is a video he made on the advice he would give to his younger self.

Marvel Studios has released a statement on the tragic passing of Sir Patrick Stewart.
“All of us at Marvel Studios are deeply saddened by the passing of Sir Patrick Stewart. Sir Patrick brought Professor Charles Xavier to life with extraordinary grace, intelligence, and humanity, defining the character for generations of fans, from X-Men to Logan to Avengers: Doomsday.
He was a singular talent, a generous collaborator, and a true gentleman. Our hearts go out to his wife Sunny, his children, his friends, and the countless fans around the world whose lives he touched with his art.”
Also after watching the podcast it makes more sense why in every interview Ilia had—EVEN after Worlds and throughout SOI with people asking about Milan—he looked more and more Done. I’m so glad he’s putting his foot down bc that was hard hearing what was really going on.
