Osvaldo Oyola 🇵🇷

Good enough > Better

Hey anyone who cares, I am on Bluesky: bsky.app/profile/dr-oyola.bs… If Elon's hellscape will even let you see this tweet and if I ever actually use it. . . which I may not.

It is a testament to how little I use this enshittified site these days that I had not noticed you cannot browse it with having an account anymore.

“I’ll take Manhattan in a garbage with Latin written on it that says ‘It’s hard to give a shit these days.’”

Every time I happen to come back to check the app formerly know. As Twitter I am immediately reminded why I never use it anymore.

The only time I really miss Twitter is times like these when I have the lyrics to the Scooby-Doo theme set to the music of "Harper Valley PTA" (and in Jeannie C. Riley's voice) stuck in my head and no one to tell about it.

Today I am uninstalling the Twitter app from my phone. I’m sorry for all the people I will inevitably lose contact with but the site has become unusable.

I think about that one ent that catches fire a lot.

So Jackson’s version of the Fellowship traversing the Mines of Moria has got to be one of the very best examples of adaptation from book to film.

Voyager is the best Trek. Lower Decks is the worst Trek. Scratch that. Maybe Picard is worse.

When I am really sick I spend the day on the couch watching Star Trek: The Next Generation but skip any episode featuring the Ferengi.

Hey hey! Kit's books were prominently featured on one of those kinda cringy morning news shows youtube.com/watch?v=c2D3dIcQ…

#StrangeNewWorlds’ version of Nurse Chapel rocks. But I kinda love them all, even their sensitive take on the Kirk brothers.

Today I figured out that somehow Billions and Succession are not the same show.

Back in NYC and taking the subway for the first time since I moved away. The only thing that never seems to change about the City is that the D train always fucks you on the weekend.

This is about the podcast I am always going on about: newyorker.com/culture/podcas…
