It’s been almost a year of building @MatiksHQ. In this short time:
We grew from a 3-member team to 20.
Moved across 3 offices to keep up with our growth.
Saw our product copied by a big firm.
Received 2 acquisition offers.
Saying yes to those acquisition offers would have been the easier choice. But we did not start Matiks for short-term wins.
We started Matiks because we believe people deserve a better way to spend their screen time, a place where playing with numbers is fun, social, and gives you a daily productive dopamine dose.
Today, I’m excited to share that @MatiksHQ has raised $3.14 Million Pre-Series A funding round, led by Tanglin Venture Partners and Info Edge Ventures 🎉
And yes, we even reduced the round size so that we can get our Pi.
This is just the beginning. Our dream is simple: to make Matiks a part of everyone’s phone.
A big thank you to my cofounders @cortisoul_ , @SushantTimmapur, our Matiks team, our users, and our investors who believed in this vision 🙏
We just raised $3.14M🥧
From solving brain teasers in classrooms to solving for scale, this one’s a big step towards making mind sports the coolest out there.
Huge thanks to our investors for believing in the equation we’re building @InfoEdgeVC @UntitledVC @gauravmunjal @RomanSaini @anilgoteti @Tanuj_kh @AmanHasNoName_2 @yash_dandavate @Abhishek Patil(Growthx)
Now let’s multiply the madness 🚀

Congratulations, folks!
Glad to be part of this journey. Keep crushing it 🚀
we raised $10M to take Matiks from India to the world 🧠🌍
not long ago, it was just a few of us who believed mind sports could go mainstream. most people called it niche.
last month, 2.2M people played 48M brain games on Matiks. they could’ve kept scrolling, and they didn’t.
our longest streak has crossed 689 days. players run google meets to coach each other. one called us “the cure to my doomscrolling” and we still aren’t over it.
huge welcome to General Catalyst and Unilazer Ventures, and thank you Info Edge Ventures, Tanglin Venture Partners and Untitled Ventures for backing us again.
what’s next:
→ taking Matiks to the US
→ more games across math, memory, logic and puzzles
→ an AI engine so anyone can build a brain game millions can play
to Sudhanshu, Sushant, Mohan and the whole Matiks team: you took a simple idea and made millions fall in love with using their brains.
to our players: none of this exists without you. this one’s for you ❤️
It's my birthday today, and there couldn't be a better day to announce our funding.
Feeling proud to announce that @matiks_play has raised $10M in series A from @generalcatalyst, @RonnieScrewvala Unilazer Ventures, @InfoEdgeVC, Tanglin Venture Partners and @untitledvc_.
Thanks all for believing in us.
What's next:
🌍 Taking Matiks global, starting with the US
🎮 More brain games across math, memory, logic and puzzles
🤖 An AI creation engine so anyone can build a game millions can play

Day 5 was all about holding your ground.
IIT BHU stays unbeaten at the top, while IIT Roorkee and IIT Madras keep the pressure on. IIT Kanpur and IIT Delhi are right in the mix, making every remaining match count.
5 days down. The leaderboard is heating up, and the fight for the top spot is far from over.

Reasons why I don’t trust AI fully, while AI is good and helpful, we still need experienced engineers who can correct it.

we surpassed chesscom in top free games in India!
onto the global stage now
our PM using AI to run experiments in the product. We are in the era, where not everything needs to be done by devs. Every team at @MatiksHQ uses Claude Code, regardless of their role.
I scored big on the IPL Quiz! Can you beat me?

For some reason, talking to a customer support executive in India feels more robotic than talking to an AI customer executive.

We’ve already conducted leagues across 90 colleges in India and onboarded 10,000+ students.
Now we’re looking to bring these leagues to US colleges.
If you’re in college and active in any club, for example, debate, finance, chess, quant, drama, consulting club, coding org, entrepreneurship society, student government, even improv or film....I would love to talk.
We’re looking for real student voices who are actually involved on campus and know people.
There are monetary rewards for the POC and winners ($200–$300).

Hiring Advice 001:
One of the best frontend engineers are those who wanted to become backend engineers but ended up becoming frontend engineers.
They think about optimization, scale, abstractions, separation of concerns, and other backend principles, which often result in clean, modular code.
Note: Exceptions are always there.
