🚨 THE DEATH OF THE MATCH DAY PROGRAMME 🚨 📖 PLEASE READ, REPOST & THEN VOTE ON THE SECOND POST 📖 Really interested to get a view (not just from fans of my club but of all those at a lower league level) on the ongoing & gradual decline of match day programmes at lower league grounds? Some clubs have stopped printing completely, some have gone to a monthly publication while less & less still produce one for each game. I am personally very much in the traditionalist camp (a digital version doesn’t interest me in the slightest) & love grabbing one at each game I attend, but this is sadly becoming less & less of an option. Our club @TheGillsFC (who produce a top quality edition in my humble opinion) has held on as long as possible it seems, albeit at an apparent loss, but surely it would be better to produce a more condensed version at lower cost for those who still wish to purchase? I’m no expert on print cost etc so won’t profess to be, but surely those who love purchasing one would prefer something to buy rather than nothing at all? These programmes are more than just souvenirs to plenty of football fans; they are memories, small parts of history & of their journey supporting their club. A type of badge of honour. To take that away removes another ingredient that has been part of the very fabric of the game, and of our club(s), for as long as we can remember. I am only one fan, but this one fan is asking you @JoeComper @BradGalinson @PhillCatterick_ to please look at alternatives that won’t mean the death of the match day programme. Thanks all for reading. #Gills #GFC 💙
