I am growing weary of claims that AI is supporting the economy. As I see it, the economy is being floated on a big fat glob of debt--humongous glob of debt. It will end poorly, IMO.

Saw one cross my TV for the first time, today. A completely AI Generated commercial with an AI version of Gov Shapiro talking about his own corruption. It reminded me both of why I hate AI generated images/video and why I have learned to hate politics.
3 weeks out from the election... this is the first pro-Garrity commercial that I've seen cross... I haven't seen anything on TV. I haven't heard anything on radio. Nothing. The criticism in this commercial is correct... unfortunately, both candidates were swimming in that pool

The ONE thing we though we could trust this Administration with was to not screw us over on energy costs... and they went ahead and proactively screwed us over on energy costs. Just so we could be governed by Big Tech and a foreign country.
What's going on with gas prices? Since gas prices are highly seasonal, it may help to look at them seasonally. This chart shows prices each year (January 1st to December 31st) back to 2004. We have never seen gas prices this high in the autumn.

We're still waiting on all of that deflation that Miran was trying to convince us of a year ago. He's one of the reasons that the GOP is in election trouble, right now. They dismissed the inflation in 2025 and that drove bad Fed Policy choices...which allowed for more inflation.

Yeah... it couldn't POSSIBLY be an entire year of shit policy, blatant corruption, degradation of their own 2024 coalition, or the resulting destructive consequences...
🚨 NEW: Fox’s @bdomenech just said the quiet part out loud: Trump’s been OUTWORKING the GOP’s midterm candidates! “Frankly, he’s making a better case for their election in many instances than they are making for themselves.” “He has been out there campaigning for them as hard as you can possibly go. He’s running late into the night, and he’s starting over the next day, and the energy level is huge.” “I think that at the end of the day, if Republicans end up losing this race, they can blame history, they can blame the climate, but they can’t blame the President. I think the President has been out there, you know, having their back and making, quite frankly, a better case for their election in many instances than they are making for themselves.”

Phillies/Orioles... I'm glad I got to see it when it happened because the O's haven't been back since and it took the Phils another 25 years to phinally win it.
What’s the first World Series you can remember? For me, it’s 1978. I made my mom promise I could stay up till the end of each game if the Yankees made it. They did, and my wide seven-year-old eyes were glued to our 19-inch Zenith till the last out. Hooked me on baseball for life.

This strategy worked so well for Biden... 🙄
On Fox Business, a week before the midterms, President Trump’s current chief economic adviser tells the president’s previous chief economic adviser the affordability crisis “is a myth.”

This election involves the choice of Communism at home vs Blowing up shit across the globe... Both of these paths will ultimately come home to roost via violence.

One more thing on this topic, all the green energy and nuclear power in the world is not gonna drive a truck across a country until that truck is electric and charging from a supercharger. Until that happens, diesel is the only way objects move around the world once they make it off the boats and trains.
Was there a sudden change in Green Energy policies at the end of February of this year?

Inflation is Still the Problem Rational Dissent Episode 014 Post-COVID structural shifts like deglobalization and tariffs have permanently eliminated the cheap goods deflation that previously offset services inflation, leaving the U.S. settled in a 3% inflation world where a 5% nominal growth rate justifies matching 5% interest rates. ---- Available on YT, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Overcast, etc. Chapters 00:00 Introduction: Inflation Reality vs. Consensus 02:22 Nominal GDP Framework and 5% Yields 06:36 Core PCE, China, and the End of Goods Deflation 11:15 Protectionism, Tariffs, and the BYD Example 15:02 Why We Are Stuck in a 3% Inflation World 23:38 Rising Inflation Volatility and Remote Work 28:13 Monetary Policy: Why the Fed Must Focus on Nominal GDP 32:37 Closing Remarks

While at Texas, Steve McMichael filled in at kicker and went 8/10 on extra points and 2/3 on field goals. Then he won a Super Bowl, joined the Four Horsemen, got ejected from Wrigley Field by Angel Hernandez for calling him blind, and made the Hall of Fame. That’s a career.

Cheap on paper for a reason. Capital misallocations, profits are fragile, & the future of autos rewards scale & software execution. That is not in Ford’s wheelhouse. Avoid.
