with the pierre, astral and sky acquisitions this might be one of the greatest engineering orgs of our time
Today we’re announcing that OpenAI will acquire @pierrecomputer to accelerate our vision for making Codex a place where teams can build software together with AI, from first idea to the version they ship.
Pierre’s open-source developer tools already power parts of Codex today. Together, we’ll build on that foundation for the agentic era.

Any top NYC burger list that doesn’t include Red Hook Tavern is just unserious
Also fwiw I think the JG Melon burger is more about nostalgia than taste, it’s fine
Top 5 - don’t @ me, I don’t care
1. JG Melon - it’s the vibes and it’s my neighborhood spot.
2. Raouls - it’s the best flavor of any burger ever.
3. Minetta - it’s a man’s burger. NYC staple.
4. Gramercy Tavern - it’s as American as it gets and it’s perfect.
5. 4 Charles. I’d leave it out but it wouldn’t be right.
Bonus: formerly bar sardine. It was the best burger I’d ever had until it closed.

It's election night
I made a website that lets you follow the midterm results like it's the battle for King's Landing, using live trades and data from @Kalshi

Big news for our developers! We are shipping a developer preview that dramatically expands the capabilities of all apps to integrate into Siri. So excited to see what you folks do with this.

This is huge news for Siri AI (and one of the last things I was working on when I stepped away)
Any app can now offer dynamic skills from their app to Siri so users can take broader actions across their apps

My initial thought after seeing someone wear their marathon medal the day after is pity.
Then I realized caring about things (broadly) is so much cooler than not.

NYC is on a generational run. Knicks, World Cup, Halloween on a Saturday, perfect weather for the NYC marathon... doesn't get better.
With the proliferation of “send to bot” workflows, X should add an option to filter out replies that start with @bot, similar to what they do on the feed with leading mentions cc @petersellis @benjitaylor

We used to talk about a "pit of success".
Humans would be dragged towards writing the right code by well-designed API's, a good test suite, sensible lint rules.
You couldn't make the pit too steep, otherwise the humans would get annoyed. There was a social contract.
Feels like what we need now is a black hole of success. An inescapable event horizon agents cannot cross.
Agents don't feel annoyed, so you can crank up the pressure to infinity. There is no social contract to break.
In other words, increase the forces on agents to the maximum. Make great code inevitable.
