For the first time, we're seeing early glimpses of real-time price discovery in physical markets.
We've shared a price action visualisation of Saudi Arabia's largest oil refinery, Ras Tanura, trading on Loaf's testnet against the backdrop of the escalating Gulf conflict and Iran war.
The movements have been produced by 5,000 traders in Loaf's "Trade the News" competition round since it launched 72 hours ago.
Below is a high level on how one may approach pricingthe oil refinery & terminal.

And so begins the new era: League of Loaf.
A trading comp for the physical universe.
$50k to win. Seats are limited.
Trade carefully. The bottom 30% get eliminated each round.
oilmageddon observations pt. 2:
- lots more people on public transport
- lime bikes are everywhere and actually being used
- no mainstream discussions about hoarding food
- life is still mostly normal
- people say they expect rationing to start post-easter break
a few observations from oilmageddon in Australia:
- there's definitely less traffic on the road
- gyms are more packed (cheaper than going out)
- no one is freaking out covid style... yet
- lots of people casually discussing stockpiling food
- no major price hikes yet on eating out
- the majority of cars i see driving are tradies or company cars (probably expensing petrol)
- the city is still packed
