I'm asking you to play something well. Mostly suffering through Giants baseball. @growing_daniel

Tickets in LA tonight for the Dodgers game are less than $100. The fair weather fans have given up on their team in the NLCS. What a joke

Another season comes to a close, another Giants loss concluded. I really enjoy the ritual of baseball and even when the team is bad, eating peanuts and drinking beer with my friends. Hopefully we acquire some better pitching this off season. See you next year bros.

All the narratives about Devers- not a team-first guy, not a leader, lazy- can die now. Guy’s been playing injured for months in a DOA season and has managed to be the team’s best hitter while mentoring the younger guys.

I would love a Matt Chapman interview where he tells the fans that there is plenty of time to turn this thing around and that they aren’t out of the playoff race yet.

I don’t think there is a better example of everything wrong with America right now than the LA Dodgers using people’s life insurance policies as collateral to hoard players and ruin the sport of Baseball. #FTD

“Quit crying. We don’t need a cap, we need owners who care enough to commit literal white collar crimes like ours”
How do the Dodgers carry an unlimited payroll? Filings uncovered by @NickNemo17 show roughly $1.45 billion in debt for American Media Productions, the entity behind SportsNet LA and the Dodgers' 25-year, $8.35 billion Charter deal, sitting on the balance sheets of 5 life insurance companies tied to or controlled by the Dodgers' own ownership group. i.e. the Dodgers get a sweetheart deal on their TV rights from a media company their owners co-own, financed by insurance companies those same owners control. Because ownership sits on both sides, as borrower and lender, the setup functions as a closed loop: -When RSNs hit turbulence, banks enforce covenants or force restructuring. Here the lenders are insurers the owners manage, so the capital stays patient and cash flow to the team never gets choked. -MLB taxes net local revenue at 34% but allows deductions for debt service and interest tied to running the network. Carrying $1.45 billion in media debt on AMP's balance sheet generates interest expense that shrinks reportable net TV income and the resulting revenue-sharing bill. Then there's the payroll itself. Over $1 billion of it is deferred, owed to 9 players through 2047. Pushing that cash out frees up money today, some of which is going toward servicing that same debt, and kicks the actual bill to a stretch of decades many of today's owners won't be around for. LA built a (seemingly illegal) structure that captures its own interest yield, shelters TV income from league revenue sharing, and helps fund payroll dominance in the process.

It's going to be so funny when the Diamondbacks make the playoffs because they went 13-0 against the Giants and 74-75 against everybody else.

The San Francisco Giants are +22500 to win the World Series at Fanduel so if you bet $100 on them to win the World Series at Fanduel you would lose $100.
