The truth is that victory in civilizational crises often precedes decay. This is the story of history. Humans are not built for victory. We are lessor sons of greater fathers, and the long defeat comes for us all.- Jeremy Boreing

I do not care who gets mad at me for saying this: President Trump, Thank you for something far deeper than politics. Thank you for waking up every morning at 79 years old and carrying a weight most people could never handle. Thank you for the meals you missed, the family moments you never got back, the sleepless nights, the long flights, the endless pressure, and the burden of serving a country that never stops demanding more. Thank you for getting back up every single time the world tried to bury you. Thank you for enduring attacks, lies, betrayal, and pressure that would have broken most people for good. Thank you for giving up comfort, privacy, peace, and the life you had built to sit in the hardest seat on earth and fight for this country. You did not have to do any of this. You already had the money, the success, the properties, the lifestyle, and the freedom. You could have walked away. Instead, you chose sacrifice. You chose responsibility. You chose America. Thank you for everything you carried that so many never fully saw. Thank you for every morning you chose this country over yourself. We see you. We appreciate you. And we thank you. God bless you. God protect you. And may God keep giving you the strength to carry what most people never could.

The main reason Galileo noticed the craters and mountains on the Moon was his training in painting- thanks to the chiaroscuro (light and shadow) technique he taught at the Accademia del Disegno in Florence,he realized the shadows indicated a three-dimensional surface structure; meanwhile, the Englishman Thomas Harriot, who observed the Moon with a telescope around the same time, didn't have this training and therefore described the surface shadows merely as a *strange spottedness.*
Galileo's first sketches of the moon after viewing it through his telescope in 1609

Higher knowledge doesn’t make you better. Without compassion, it makes you dangerous. Most people imagine “spiritual development” as rising above the world. Dr Steiner warned that you can rise so high you stop being human. If you pursue higher knowledge without deepening your sympathy for people, animals, and the living beauty of nature… something subtle begins to break. Your perception sharpens. Your feeling‑life dries out. You start to see more; yet feel less. And that imbalance isn’t progress. It’s deformation. For Steiner, true initiation is never a cold climb into abstract realms. It is the warming and widening of the soul. A growing ability to suffer with others. A finer sensitivity to beauty. A deeper resonance with life. Because knowledge without warmth becomes power without conscience. And a person who perceives deeply but no longer feels deeply becomes capable of harm without ever intending it. This is why he insisted: Every ascent in knowledge must be matched by an expansion of compassion. Otherwise the path leads not to illumination; but to isolation. The real measure of development isn’t how much you know. It’s how much your heart has grown.

In 1800’s, having a kid was an investment. Today, many see it as an expense. No wonder we’re at lowest birthrate in U.S. History with 1.58. Here’s how to increase the birthrate in America. 🇺🇸 👶🏼👶🏼👶🏼👶🏼

Dostoevsky wrote this after nearly being executed: “When I look back at my life, I feel pain not because of suffering, but because of wasted time. I see how carelessly I lived, how often I ignored the quiet voice of my soul, how rarely I understood the value of a single moment. Only when death stood before me did I realize that life is not merely existence—it is a miracle. Every minute is a treasure, and in every breath, there is the possibility of happiness.”

Oh please, spare me the Hallmark-card TED Talk remix. Steve Jobs died too early because he ignored “sound advice” — he died because literally every treatment path for his particular cancer had awful odds and he picked the one that let him pretend he was still in control. His fruit diet was peak Jobs arrogance, however let’s not pretend the standard slash-poison-burn protocol would’ve magically saved him either. He bought himself maybe a few extra months of suffering instead of a few extra months of slightly less suffering. Big win. And yeah, money can’t buy you a new pancreas… but it sure as hell buys you: - private jets to fly to the best specialists on the planet - experimental treatments most people never even hear about - round-the-clock care so you don’t die alone and panicked in a public hospital corridor - enough cash that your kids and grandkids never have to worry about rent while you’re busy dying That’s not nothing. That’s an enormous asymmetry most humans will never taste. The $300 vs $30 watch line is cute until you remember the $30 watch is usually the one that breaks in two years, makes your wrist itch, and gets you quietly judged in rooms where first impressions still matter. The $300 one (or $30,000 one) is just insurance against small daily humiliations. Most people’s “happiness” is at least 60% the absence of those little humiliations. And sure, a big house can feel empty… but a small apartment with thin walls, screaming neighbors, and black mold feels empty AND suffocating. There’s a reason rich people keep buying bigger houses even after the kids move out: because loneliness in 4,000 sq ft with a view hurts less than loneliness in 400 sq ft staring at the neighbor’s aircon unit. The sermon sounds noble until you realize it’s mostly being preached by (and to) people who already have enough money that they can comfortably pretend money doesn’t matter. Jobs’ real lesson isn’t “riches are meaningless.” It’s “riches are meaningless *once you already have them* and are literally dying.” Until then, keep stacking! Never forget: it's better to cry in a Mercedes Benz than in an autobus. And the Mercedes at least has central locking. The bus still smells like wet socks and someone’s always gonna try to rob you at the stop. – at Munich, Germany
