if you ever see me being strict about natural/manmade disasters on this site, know i take them very seriously because it’s my field of study so
the biggest takeaway i’m hoping for from today is for people from historically left-leaning states to stop viewing texans, and other southerners, as irredeemable and backwards, writ large. and this didn’t change tonight, or even this year, because we’ve always been here

I actually genuinely believe this, once in a generation politician and he can’t even run for prez.
The entire Democratic Party owes a massive debt of gratitude to Zohran Mamdani.
Before his rapid rise, the party was largely rudderless, suffering from a loss of direction, momentum, and self-confidence. By drifting away from the working class, the party naturally saw voters walk away in response.
Mamdani single-handedly corrected the course, bringing vital energy, ideological clarity, and an authentic connection back to the very people who had been left behind.
Without his influence, the party’s current standing would look very different.
and to all northerners who would say that the south didn’t deserve help during disasters because we “voted red” and we “deserve what happens” …SUCK IT!!
texas is my home. it’s been my ancestors’ home for centuries upon centuries. to see this change tonight made me sob uncontrollably with hope. it means change CAN happen. american people CAN come together and make a difference. texas, i love you with all my heart.
