Forget about oil. There are only a small handful of tankers in the world that transport wine, and WINE TRADER (8808707) can carry 6.32 million liters, which is 8.4 million bottles.
WATCH: The first images of the vessel Wine Trader, reportedly struck by two drones in Romanian territorial waters, have emerged. The footage shows damage to the ship’s upper structure.
Romanian authorities are conducting a rescue operation, but extremely rough seas are preventing rescuers from safely reaching the four crew members still aboard.

Today is 'Old Michaelmas', the date on which many of that festival's customs were celebrated after Britain adopted the Gregorian calendar. Here's a thread on Old Michaelmas, a lovely quirk of the folklore year, and the places where its traditions are still going strong today...

🧵 4 Posts The design of the probably 10th/11th Walton Cross at Hartshead is as interesting as its history. Carved from gritstone, its four faces are covered with intricate interlace, scrolling forms, birds and beasts, including the distinctive so-called Tree of Life motif. The

I bought a train ticket in Osaka and the machine gave me exact change plus an extra ¥100.
I stared at it.
Checked my receipt.
Definitely gave me too much.
I went to the station attendant.
Me: The machine gave me extra money.
Attendant: *checks the machine records*
Attendant: Ah. Machine-san likes you.
Me: I'm sorry?
Attendant: Sometimes the machines give bonuses. To kind people.
Me: That's not how machines work.
Attendant: *small smile* In Japan, maybe different.
I tried the same machine the next day.
Extra ¥100 again.
A salary man next to me got exact change.
He looked at my coins, then at me.
Salary Man: The machine chose you.
Me: Chose me for what?
Salary Man: We don't question these things.
I've been using that machine for three weeks now.
Extra ¥100 every time.
Yesterday a grandmother saw it happen and bowed to me.
I don't know what I did, but I'm apparently blessed by a ticket machine.

What have beavers been up to in London? 🦫
Three years ago, Beaver Trust supported the release of beavers at @ealingbeavers Project, in Paradise Fields, West London. Last month, we caught up with Urban Beaver Officer @senizdoesnature.
