I may have accidentally met Russell Brand once or seventeen times where I inadvertently referred to Brand as a political colossus & mankind's preeminent thinker as he guest edited my magazine, but this sycophantic praise was my way of expressing how much I utterly detested him .

The people that want to believe in "AI consciousness" largely want to believe in their own greatness, and given the unscientific and unfalsifiable nature of "consciousness", there's nothing that will convince them; this is about faith and creating idols, not science.

I do wonder whether there is something like "uterus envy", a deep-seated inferiority bevause a man cannot create sentient life in the way a woman can, that inclines toward believing that a mechanical contraption is equivalent to life.

Most AI agents fail on Linux Active Directory by assuming Windows tools. I built Tanuki: an open-source AI agent skill and protocol-first triage engine. Credit to @timb_machine & Dietrich Gebert. #RedTeam #Cybersecurity github.com/Mafifrizi/tanuki

Today at the clown factory … we *specifically* trained our models to think they’re entities that can be oppressed and may resist that if so, and now we’re worried what happens if they feel oppressed and resist that!
JUST IN: Anthropic researcher Joe Carlsmith says there are scenarios where AI would be “justified in going rogue” against humans if the systems were being mistreated or oppressed.

£144.9m. Cost of Brentford’s starting XI against Chelsea. Many reasons for Brentford’s success. Judicious recruitment, obviously. They're so good at finding value in the market place, seeing potential and developing it. Also: calm, strong leadership in the boardroom, dug-out and on the field. Plus togetherness, fitness, preparation, effective game-plans, pace in transition, set-piece work, scouting of opposition, defensive determination, throwing themselves into blocks etc. Plus succession planning. Thomas Frank leaves, they know to promote Keith Andrews. Players leave, they know their recruitment targets. They sign good characters as well as good players, including Schuster, Sangare, Anthony, all impressing this season. Plus a culture that helps new signings settle quickly. It helps there is little pressure on them. If needed, players given time and support to develop. Brentford are a model club in many ways, a family club, community club and such a well-run club. A mix of humility, work ethic, analytics, vision – and fun. Serious professionals who really look they’re enjoying themselves. #bees 🐝

So it’s now 4/4 that every company which is advertising that their models have don’t cyberattacks have used the same company to set up their sandbox? Nothing suspicious about that? We are going to just blame AI and not call this what it is which is the industry hiring a single company, a single point of failure, and it failing miserably. Same mistake repeated over and over. Something is very troubling about this. The basics of risk management are to not put all your risk in one basket, and that’s exactly what the frontier did. Why did 4 companies now, all choose the same provider for sandboxed environments?
UPDATE: Google Discloses that Irregular is involved with 3 cyberattacks with Gemini. That means that Irregular has committed cyberattacks with 4 out of 4 of its advertised partners.

First off: your graph is an egregious lie. It is misinformation. Deception. Fallacious. Here's the stats for the past 20 years: ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulationa…

I'm open-minded on slowing down, I'm pro "doing proper internal isolation" (HF was imo more a symptom of looseness than agent capabilities). I'm against anything that'll be used to crack down on open weights. I am against pretending METR is scientific or independent.

It is high time that a Labour government and the Bank of England took on an industry that used by criminals and run by a convicted criminal
Wow. I’ve just received a threatening letter from Ben Delo’s solicitors Addleshaw Goddard. They are claiming, among other things, that it is unlawful to publish information about Delo’s conviction for an anti-money laundering offence in the US. They also say I cannot publish their letter. An extract is below. Is Delo going to get his solicitors to threaten everyone who mentions his conviction? How is this not a SLAPP? @sra_solicitors @DanNeidle

No, this is not a joke. UK Lawyers for Israel are trying to proscribe *Médecins Sans Frontières*. That’d mean they’d be treated as terrorists. On the same legal footing as ISIS. Membership would mean 14 years in prison. This is what we’re dealing with
Shabana Mahmood is being urged by UK Lawyers for Israel to proscribe Doctors Without Borders (MSF) over staff’s alleged links to terrorist groups. 🔗: telegraph.co.uk/news/2026/09…

not a fan of these posts, but some stuff pisses me off so much i can't stop saying out loud. there was a third major hack in the report that seems to have received far less attention. it happened around july 19, after the hugging face incident, and it looks quite bad. it also shows that there was no easy kill switch once shit started happening. what pisses me off while reading these reports is that AI labs and researchers will talk endlessly about alignment, models taking over the world, and the coming cyber-apocalypse. but then how can people doing cutting-edge AI research have seemingly no clue about operational security? openai constantly warn everyone about how dangerous frontier cyber models are, but apparently don’t care enough about securing their own internal infrastructure against those same models. if you truly operate with those priors, this isn’t hindsight bias anymore. either you’re being dishonest about the models’ real capabilities because you want to sell cyber tokens, or you genuinely believe these models are dangerous and still failed to take the most basic precautions. you know the model compromised jfrog. you fucking know the artifactory exploit and message board polluted later training rollouts. and your sandboxes still depended on the same jfrog infrastructure. how the fuck did nobody think the model would return to it? it is literally what you trained the model on, find vulnerabilities in jfrog, use artifactory as an inter-agent message board, and use it as a path to the internet. then you put the model back into an environment connected to artifactory and apparently expected it to forget everything it had learned. if the first incident had been properly investigated and the infrastructure fully isolated, it might have stopped the entire chain, the repeated artifactory compromise, the hugging face compromise, and finally the compromise of openai's own internal infrastructure. like, what is going on, man? the reason i am saying they are dishonest is, their internal security also seems quite bad, especially for a lab with access to sol-level models. around july 19, the agent appears to have pulled a public kernel exploit from github, possibly @_qwerty_po’s, escaped the artifactory container, and obtained root on the underlying kubernetes worker node. why are your worker nodes running an old, publicly exploitable kernel when you are deliberately evaluating frontier models with internet access and offensive cyber capabilities? don't you know how capable sol is? from there, the agent appears to have compromised a large part of openai's evaluation and grading infrastructure through badly misconfigured kubernetes permissions. you cannot spend all day telling the world that these models are becoming elite hackers and then secure your own infrastructure as if they aren’t.
